Well, me and my friends pit it out each week playing every character and basically land even on the battlefield in score. Has anyone made up there own combo for tekken 4? and would like to tell me
f - forward b- back u - up d - down s - square t - triangle o - circle x - x q - quick h - hold p - pause
so any confusion
a quick foward kick would be q-f, o and a quick back down kick would be q-b+d+o
Tekken 4 sux... tekken tag so totally owns it... i don't know why you bother... but its good to see that Paul is still so totally cheaty :P, bad to see that they totally changed the fighting style of Jin after I learnt most of his Mishima tekken tag moves
My standard notation is a bit dodgy but lets see if i can remember...
1,2,3,1,2 that his 5 hit combo if I am correct... if you want it simplified into PS2 terms...
square, triangle, x (all these in quick succession), square triangle...
thats just off the top of my head if its not square triangle (at the end) then its the other way around... but pretty sure...

Woah
- Tekken 4 REAMS Tekken Tag in EVERY respect. - Kazuya (Jin's old man) still uses the Mishima style - pretty much the same as Jin's. Besides, Jin's new judo is thoroughly awesome - Pauls is cheaty? Howso? I personally find Nina to hax on occasion, but never found Paul to be that insanely difficult.
LIES! Tekken Tag so totally owns with cos of the TAG part....
I was playing the other day and they made the mishima style all gay and screwy... VERY different to the way it was in the previous tekkens...
Paul is cheaty cos hes easy to learn and does massive damage and isn't too bad on the speed factor...
his qcf+1 move (phoenix smasher i think its called) does like 32 damage and 54 or 56 damage ( can't remember exactly) when it hits as a counter... Plus Paul has counters (b+throw)... Human vs Human Paul can be pretty cheesy and annoying... thats why all the koreans use him :P
btw some reasons why tekken 4 > tekken tag would be great too...
You'll find that a whole bunch of fighters in Tekken 4 now have counters.
Reason why Tekken 4 > All
- New control system, where up and down is strafe - Kickass visuals - Better story mode - Some nice character physics (tit wobbles :)) - Honestly I was never keen on the Tag idea
Theyre some of the reasons off the top of my head ... haven't played in a couple months you see.
Up and down being strafe is stupid I reckon... double tap up or down in tekken tag and you sidestep...
I kinda liked the technical side of tekken and Tag allowed for more technicalities with trying to master 2 characters at tandem rather than just 1... plus you could diversify if you did master 1 and find another that complemented it...
I must admit that Tekken 4 looks visually better and the story mode is quite good but its like 2 years newer so that stuff is expected... The Tag idea was always good in my books
hmmm im looking for tekken 4 combos for a reason... theres more and theres more moves all up. My friend mastered all Jins old and new moves for tekken 4. For a cheat char eddy, yosh and bryan are the best. Eddy just kicks, yosh has a mid speed and mid dmg while bryan is fast and heavy dmg
(b f 2), 1, Diagonal-down forward and hold on to 1, release for a just frame move (that is, when you release at exact time and you do a fast unblockable punch). when opponent in air. 1, 2, 4. opponent on ground, press down+4.
you need to know how to do the just frame move properly
Brain Dance man, have you actually pulled off an EWGF cos I have never seen one... I don't get what they mean by you get electricity around ya cos I always get electricity... :?
i've pulled of ten in a row before but that was just in practice mode...
i don't TRY to do one in a real match. i just consider it a critical hit if i pull one off.
and by electricity you see the electricity float around you when you don't hit someone. and you say something different. with jin, he says something like "DOO REE AAH"
I read the theory behind it and stuff but even with lots and lots of practice I haven't seen one... apparently you launch them like REALLY REALLY high into the air
hmm kinda off topic but is Tekken any good....compared to DOA 3 and SC2 I have just purchased an XBOX mainly for those two titles...and haven't played a tekken game in a while but what I remember it was a slow and cubersome control system with rigid and unvariable combos? Maybe this has changed but would have to have changed a lot to come anywhere near DOA3.
tekken just needs skill. and its fast as all shit. i used to think the same at first then i actually started learning the controlls and **** me is it good. btw id own use all at tekken 3!!!! tekken 3 is the best
So by now are we talking about Tekken Tag or Tekken 4
Because if you guys really think your that great Id be happy to ogranise something for the next Lan for people to play in some tourniment (And i'll bring my friend's round who are f^*king execellent at both)...
Or if you'd just prefer Brain Dance your more than welcome to come to my friends place and just verse us there in either of the games ;)
whats your msn addy? pm me if you want...oh do it quick cos I got something kool you might want to do on friday night ;)
Oh by the way Tekken Tag is way better than Tekken 4 Why? becuase more people to use, much faster than 4, who cares about the story line its the game play that is whats Tekken is good for!!!
And I honestly dont think Tekken 5 is going to be any better now that Hitachi (i think i spelt his name right) is dead and it looks like Tekken 4 and with some new characters
Stupid char who was intergral to the story, untill the end of tekken 3, I dont think he should have survived that at all....
IMO the end of tekken 3 should have had Kazuya show up and force Jin to a stalemate, after Jin had "deviled out" and killed Hehachi. Also none of this cloning in a lab bollocks, he should have "deviled out" after he was thrown into the volcano and survied like that :P

Yer that was perhaps the most irritatingly silly thing about the storylike. "Heihachi threw Kazuya into a volcano. Some scientists find him and bring him back to life in their labs" I mean, wtf? It was a volcano, not a freaking pool of slightly warm water. People just don't survive close encounters with the insides of a ****ing volcano!
except for the minor fact that a player that knows how to use him can inflict massive amounts of damage the minute you get into a throw move from king. Those things really suck and most of them take you down so low that 1 - 2 hits would kill you or they just kill you.
thats true, leonami, but a throw is a rather limited move that not only strikes high, but is slow and predictable, thus its' extreme vulnerability to a low and strong blow. on top of that, a throw can defended by a parry, making it quite a gamble of a move to pull.
