Noticed a cool feature in the forums? Reply here with it, giving specific instructions on how other users can do it.
I'll kick it off by making everyone aware of the Report Bad Post function. Underneath each posters avatar are a couple icons. The one you need to look for is this one... [Image: http://www.gamers-underground.com/forum/images/buttons/report.gif].
By clicking on the number in the top right hand corner of any post, you will be taken to a page with that post and only that post viewable. As most of you have seen, OverDrive has already put this feature to good use.
By clicking on anyones name (above their avatars in a post), you'll be presented with a DHTML drop down menu that gives you a range of options based around profile features.
By hovering your mouse pointer over a thread title in a forum view, you'll notice a HTML pop-up which gives you a brief preview of what's in the first post.
Drop down menus on the Right hand side of the Brown bar that is under the first 'Post Reply' button. These things are very useful, especially Display Modes. You can change the way posts are display while you are browsing the thread. Like if its a long thread its good to be able to have Hybrid mode or Threaded mode to sift through the one liner crap and go to the juicy stuff.
Hmm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but is there anyway to hide my Identity while browsing the forums? I actually enjoyed this feature :)
I swear I saw an option for it when the new forums were first on, but i'd be damned if I can find it again.
Not unless you're an administrator or moderator... however I'm not sure I see reason to disable this option for general users - perhaps we'll make the option availible.
Everyone had to re-apply - not because of re-evaluation, but for the same reason all the people in private forum groups had to re-apply. You have not - therefore, your not a mod. It will take you all of 5 seconds to do.
Ahh - It seems you just found the application button....
