a guy on my street has it and telstra wont give it to me cos of pair gains and they dont wanna share there copper
besides getting isdn what are other forms of >56k connections?

Forget about it. I lived in Durack (Fairway Waters) for 3 years, and know a guy in Telstra who does the ADSL connections. He says that Durack was built on a RIM system (not sure exactly what that means except that you can't hook it up to ADSL).
As such, it will be one of the very last areas that Telstra look at in their longterm plans of getting everyone ADSL access.
Only options are satellite or ISDN - both too expensive for me, but they are your options.

darwinwireless came and went.. not sure of current / future plans.. go to www.darwinwireless.com and ask around.. or wait for one of them to come here.

yeah Darwinwireless is still operational. However there is no relay at palmerston ATM, As darwinwireless doesen't have a repeater in that area, is there ne1 willing to become one for the palmo Area. cheers

Is fairwaywaters part of durak, I know for a fact Durak has ADSL2+
Also Xaine, Durak is running off a RIM. You can have ADSL off a RIM.
RIM = Remote Intergrated Multiplexer
Its a smaller exchange, running off the main exchange. No difference.
I can find out when Fairway waters will get ADSL if you like?
