My friend showed me this site, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/73686 and he says he can get up to 100kb with just his 512kb connection.

Well, i have a 1.5mb connection, and still only get 50kb. So anyway, I was doing the steps and could never log into the page. It would be a invalid link, although it worked for my friend. I looked up my adsl modem, Alcatel Speed Touch Home, and found some information, http://www.alcateldsl.com./pdf/sthome_manual_04.pdf

So, anyway, if you go to section 2.3.1, you can see that it says to type 10.0.0.138 or SpeedTouch.lan. Anyway, still invalid link. I can't figure out why I can't do it.

Just some basic information, I got my modem when i was with Telstra maybe 2-3 years ago. I changed to internode now, and have a 1.5mb/256kb connection.

If anyone could help me figure out how to goto that first configuration screen, it would be greatly appreciated.

a) your friend is either lying, or misreading the stats in the same way that korny misread the steam download stats.
b) in order to maximise your CHANCES of getting full speed on torrents (and i say chances, because you are still subject to the upstream bandwidth of your peers), is to forward ports 6881-6889 from your router, to the machine you are running the bittorrent client on. not familiar with your router, so can't tell you the how of it. also. limit your upstream bandwidth to about 10kB/s within bittorrent.
