Boat Console Installs COMPLETE

Hey Guys,

I am wanting to know the approx price for install
of a Side console into my current boat.

At current I have a 4.2m Stacer Sport boat.
It has a 30hp Mercury Outboard. The boat is around
6 months old. I am after a console steering and
throttle aswell as somewhere to mount a fishfinder.

I am not after anything special doesnt need a splash
window, but does need to be small and compact enough
not too take up the room in the boat. Would prefer
to have somewhere to put some switches on the console
for the side lights and accesories later on down the
track

If you could provide me with a quote I would be muchly
appreciative.

Pretty much asking the same thing here. I have done some ring arounds and done all that I can do just in case I missed something or you guys know mates or whatever ..

I am after the complete everything. Console base, steering wheel, throttle and wires and yeah everything .. So if you guys know something or someone please post.

Its a shame my fathers not still up here. He made one for his Tinny out of marine ply, was awesome.

Then for a mate, made a freestanding center console out of fibre glass. Was an awesome job.

Have you tried any of the fibreglass companies? Im sure they could do something similar. Fibre glass is a better option, for weather, weight etc.

so far run up some welding companies around Darwin .. Going price for the console around $300-370ish ..

Still yet to get prices on the Steering wheel, throttle and cables and install. Once I can confirm on the console I can then get the others sorted.

Havnt rung up about fiberglass yet. Seeings its a tinny, want to go for the cheaper option .. The design myself sounds pretty good too though .. might try and find some templates.

Google has failed me. Unable to find a "How To" for building a console :( .. ahh well will have to pay for it me finks.

The remote control unit (eg throttle/ foward/reverse/choke/key electric start) units will probably be very expensive. Does you motor currently have pull start and tiller steer ?

yeah it is pull start and tiller.

I have rung around and now have a closer price for install. :) alot more then expected.

Stapla guessing u know more then I do about this matter what light can u shed on the matter. ?? :D

If you REALLY want center console, either find the bits 2ndhand OR buy a centerconsole boat.

going side console. And yeah was not looking at doing myself so getting somebody to do it for me

yeh considering how hard it is to weld aluminium as well as install the hydrolics for the steering rack and the electrics. building the console is just half the fun belive me. doing a side or center for a qintrex hull soon.

welding aluminium is easy.. just gotta have the right equipment. had a tab welded onto my rollbar in less than 5 minutes.

yeh a decent welder makes all the difference. i tried with my shitty old welder and ended up with a ball of crap. mind you my welding skills are almost non existant. good thing my cousin does it for a living.
