Target: L60 Raid boss Giant outside Giants Cave complex.
AA: Aden west gate, I will prepare a print out of the strat before the raid so check this space over the weekend.
Timings: 2100 hrs AEST, this should give enough time for the WAers to get home and at least have dinner.
(No movement before) NMB 2110, (Notice to move) NTM will be 2 minutes.
Prelim moves: Make sure you move yourself to Aden before the event!!
Admin: 1. Everyone make sure you have adequate SS/SPS/BSPS of the appropriate grade for about a 10 min slugfest. (I recommend about 5-6K should do the job but you may need more if you use fast weapons) 2. Everyone should obtain at least 20 Greater healing potions and at least 3 Greater haste potions in case you get debuffed. 3. Post your attendance in this thread so that I can make rudimentary groups based on who is comming, this will prevent wasting time when you log on. 4. Please ensure that you are logged into TS by 2110 so that you can hear all the instructions. In addition, I will provide a printable raid strat for the evening.
anda will be there and i want to bring my overlord to c how its debuffs work on raid mobs scourge is meant to hit every time and slows down there hp regen should be good i think and ill bring un for buffs before fight if needed.
I don’t think as a responsible clan leader I could allow glor to join the raid knowing he chucked a sickie to be there especially as he is just a fake orc anyway.
Spear, could you please run some DPS tests on this guy for me.
Get a buffer up there with you and give him a few good clips around the ears with various weapons. Make sure you record your: P.atk P.def M.atk M.def
and the damage you are doing to him. Also record any active resistances that may display in the targetting box.
Let me know how you go, I'll try to catch up with you online during the weekend to get the numbers off you. If you don't catch me by Sunday evening just email the info to my home e-mail and I'll write up the strat on Monday morning.
If you have any dramas just call me on the mobile.
Quote from Zalroth: Dunno how useful, but i'll be bringing my 44 Overlord :)

Insta clan buffs are simply gold if this sucker has AoE debuff. Unlike EQ, all the buffs get stripped when these guys unleash. He may also spawn lower level minions where your AoE Root(or maybe thats only WC??? ) will be most important to save the healers in the first few seconds whilst we fight to regain the initiative...(and aggro ;) )
Regrettably I don't have as many ppl who posted as to whether they're coming or not so we'll work out groups on the night.
We'll need 3 groups to even attempt this one because we will not have the DPS otherwise.
When we form up in Aden we'll ensure that everyone is accross the strat and understands whats required of them.
1. the MT group will hopefully be the same as last time; a. 2 tanks b. 2 healers (pref is for Bishop but can use EE/SE) c. 1 warcryer/propher (WC preferred due to buff speed if mob debuffs) d. 2 rechargers e. 1 sword singer f. 1 blade dancer
2. we then form the DPS groups based on who's there. We'll try and put in one healer and buffer per group.
3. Once we get to the mob I'll position everyone for the fight. Daggers and nukers at the rear, and the archers just behind the MT group.
4. The way I see the fight going is the same as last time; a. MT engages under UD for 30 sec, no healing just Greater Heal potions. b. After 30 sec MT will call for assist and I want all the melee to assist (not archers or nukers) c. Once the mob is at 90% and the aggro is steady the archers and nukers will begin to put in their DPS. Go in slow and no SS/BSPS, in addition we'll send in the pets for those that can summon them.(one way of achieving this is not to buff haste untill later, more on that after). I would also like to try to windshackle and debuff the mob at this stage and this will be done sequentially to ensure that I can cast hate after each attempt to offset the aggro. We'll work out who will cast what on the night depending on lvs and turn out. d. At 80% the melee will enable SS and increase DPS accordingly. e. At 60% all casters, archers and pets get haste as appropriate. This may involve a roving WC for the job, we'll have to play this one by ear. f. At 40% casters and archers will enable SS and BSPS g. At 20% we'll go all out with everything else in the arsenal including special attacks from gladies and tyrants. h. if you get aggro on you at any stage, cease attack and stand next to the MT so they can hate the mob off you.
5. I could not find any meaningfull info on the mob and in my tests the mob hit me for around on avg 470 shield resisted under self buffs (my p.def 1024/1257 w/shield). I'm hoping to drop that somewhat with better buffs. We'll just have to manage healing on the fly.
6. Other than that I'll call stuff in TS as its easy to miss in the current interface due to melee spam that some of us need to see. Don't assist untill told to and keep your wits about you.
7. Given that this mob is out there solo, its my understanding that it will summon some beasties at some stage of the fight to assist it. We have some experience of this from the quest fight with the abyssal crystal where the adds came in at 55%. This is where the second tank comes in. When any adds pop everyone will be told in TS to: a. cease attacking and let the ST gain aggro. Healers in other groups will make buttons for the MT and the ST and be ready with battle heals as required. b. The MT will remain on the boss whilst everyone assist the ST to kill off the adds. Once the adds are in the ST will controll the fight on TS and he will be the one everyone assists untill all the adds are dead. c. If you get aggro at any stage just shift into kite mode and do circles around a small perimeter untill someone gets them off you. Make sure you let your group leader know you have aggro. d. There should only be one set of adds so as soon as they are gone you can re-engage the main mob. Pay attention to the %'s of the mob health so that you don't hook in too early and screw up the aggro. The rest should be just the regular grind down till boss death.
Yeah nevermind, however we still got a good sized bunch of people together.:D
As it stands, we need just about every member to attempt a raid, so just a reminder to keep eyes open for potential new members, as i think more individual members would make things easier when planning raids etc, we can afford to have a few no-shows.
