I need some help with a quest if possible please guys. And i know the moment you hear the name, you will all be groaning...
Wishing Potion Quest...
Yep, its a pita to do. I did it once today, and know ill be doing it more the next couple of days... Its the ONLY source for my Overlord Clan Heal. Heard multiple different 'drop' rates, but as a rough guide, Its like 1/30 from the 'Wisdom' option.
So i would like to request some help for it. I would very much appreciate ANY donations of wish potions to my hopeless cause. And hopefully i just get VERY lucky.
Your all over joyed at the possibility of helping with this quest, but i have recieved many a msg saying "But Zalroth, How do i do this quest?". Well never fear, ill post my walkthrough. Bare in mind this is all off the top of my head, and im at work... Amazing how im getting all these msgs whilst im a work hey ;)
There is 2 steps to do this quest. The first step essentially qualifies you to collect the 8 components in the second step.
Step One: a) Go talk to the dwarven alchemist that is up near Ivory Tower(name? you know the tower north of Oren) and get the quest to kill some tree. The dwarf is to the west of the tower, over the river (thats the west side of the river) standing outside a little hut. He asks you to go kill some secret knowledge tree in Cruma Marsh. b) Go kill the tree :) Its in the SW corner of Cruma marsh, amongst some stone ruins. c) Return to the alchemist and hand it in to qualify for stage two!
I know very exciting so far...
Stage Two: a) Collect 8 different bits of mobs. Each bit drops from one or 2 mobs. Every guide i have seen hasn't been updated c3 yet. The one i did find was just plain wrong with the mob locations. The actual quest information in your log was better.
I can't remember the name of the 'components' so i will just list them by mob to kill
(i) Bugbear or bugbear warrior (thingy), more East than NE of Giran (ii) Basilisk, Execution Grounds only i believe. (iii) Horror Mist Ripper. Cruma Marsh Lands. (iv) Glass Jaguar. Around Monster Derby. I think it was more west, nw ish or sw ish. Don't think the same direction as the Stilenos. (v) Stilenos. East of Monster Derby. You can see them east when your standing at the Derby (or you can see the dwarf bots...) (vi) Recruit, Ant Warrior Captain, Wastelands. This was the one i spent an hour trying to get. Could only find 2 spawns of the captains in the whole of the wastelands, and the mobs inside the Ants Nest didn't have the right name. Damm i hate the Wild Desperado packs now too. (vii) Tyrant, Tyrant Kingpings. Wastelands. Easy heaps of mobs. (viii) Whispering Winds (its the bigger one, check the name in your log). North of Gludin, north of orc barrocks, Windy Peak or something.
You can only collect one set of components at a time. But can do stage 2 multiple times.
I think i should take up guide writing, with so many mobs/objects described as thingys :) What you guys recon?
Its listed as lvl 30-64 in the quest log. And yes dark blue mobs do drop the quest pieces as everything is dark blue to me at 44 (besides the ants in wastelands)
1st time I got Magic Barrier and Transfer pain SB and the Amulet:Chant of revenge, that for the buff WC get at lvl 62 :), but me already have that one :). So if anyone needs these let me know or i'll just put in Clan WH
but the second time I got nothin at all :( not even useless stuff :(, perantly there was a chest I was ment to interact with but didn't see it :(, Oh well round 3 :)
Yeah that sucked Mag. Dunno why the chest didn't appear for you... I still recon you should petition a GM or something. But we were both buggered at that point of the night.

Also if anyone needs the musical notes for the Battle or Love song, im starting to get a collection ;) Seems you get one of each, everytime you hand something in. I'll get number 5 tonight i think.

Did the quest twice more tonight, Yeah I was board :), and got the following 2 x Amulet: Rage of Paagrio (Olib has all ready claimed one and Zal wants the other :) so wasn't a complete wast of time :)) SB: Restore Life SB: Vitalize SB: Servitor Magic Shield SB: Curse Diseasand 2 Musical Scores, What a score :-D

Can you tell me which amulets/totems/opptydoops you actually need ? I'll just go ask the rang rangs rather than mucking about with this, unless ofcourse there is no other way.
This is the only way to get the "Amulet:Heart of Paagrio". It is not dropped by mobs. The only one i have seen for sale was priced at 25mil. So unless someone has a spare 20+mil floating around...
I can have the whole quest done in 1.5 to 2Hrs. Depending on how quickly the Items drop. Most time the Items drop fairly quickly, thats with me one shoting most mobs so can go through them fairly fast :). The one off the ants always seems to take the longest, but it much faster if u go into the ants nest,if u can, as there more of the mobs in there.
Sent these lists to Tannen and Vilnya, they should be signing up to the boards today, I think Tannen was okay but Vilnya wanted to put up his hand for a few of them.
Sell them for your own needs zal, your list has been up for a while now so if anyone hasn't asked for one, take it as they don't need it.
Well i was more interested if i was selling some underpriced ;) i flog the books of at 25k each. So if you see any that are rare, and should be priced more 100kish let me know please ;)
