he could be doing it by having his kids at each lighswitch flicking it on and off :) i would be much more simple

I've been planning something similar to that forever, but the amount of time taking to set it up is just too much.
Electronics is fairly time consuming but the annoyance would be getting the light syncs off tracks. Which I'd probably use a midi score to cheap off the light sequences.
Expect in about 5 years to see something similar hopefully. :P Hopefully.

in the States i saw the nation champion display in Kentucky, and its so not worth it, they said it costs them (1998 mind you) about $20000 over the christmas holiday. they did have like...a Hectare mind you, it was a farm, and they did the christ birth seen in a life size actual Barn. but for the cool factor, that rates 10/10
