My mums aircon is ****ed

It’s a Samsung bio tech split system

When trying to turn it on with the remote all the lights on the aircon itself just flash of and on, nothing happens besides that. No matter what settings you change using the remote nothing else happens.

Gonna take ages for the warranty techs to come and look at it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you tried turning the power off to the A/C unit completely, give it a good couple of minutes to reset the electronics. Make sure the Remote batteries are good. Otherwise get da Fridgy.

Goodluck

Change the batteries in the remote.
Im dead serious by the way. we used to have a split system that did the EXACT same thing. Had to replace the batteries in the remote.
sounds silly, but just give it a shot, you never know, it might work :p

Nothing you can do to it i'm afraid. as soon as the electronics detect a fault anywhere in the Aircon it disables it to protect the rest of the unit. so looks like you need to break out the old fan and wait for the service tech. :(
It proberly wont be the batteries as the aircon is actually flashing all its lights. (very good sign there is a fault) If it was a Daikin i could proberly help you out.

Samsung Bio-techs are very dodgy... our takeaway has 2 of them and the amount of times they have stuffed up amazes me... The covers that should close when the aircon turns off are stuffed for no particular reason...
If I recall correctly we had pretty much teh same problem... not much you can do I'm afraid...
