I know this is L2 Discussion...but anyway :P

i just want to say if you want to put everyone from GU in the wow guild we can make the real SB crew officers..because as officers we can talk amongst ourselves and not have to worry about the whole clan...

but there is a heap of people playing atm so it'll be heaps fun...

post here if you want to sign up and play wow. i will :P kinda hipocritical...but oh well. gunna make a shadowpriest...pretty good for lvling..

and also if you want to know anything about world of warcraft, ask milenko. he knows everything.

Post 2

is it pay to play?

Post 3

Yeah the last few weeks months i've been mentioning this to some SB members.
I think by the time we are all sick of L2, and private servers, maybe a month , maybe 2, maybe tomorrow, I would like us to move to a different game.

Wow suits both the hardcore players and the time limited and anda will happy to know there are limited ways for people to grief you.

No buffbots, no 2boxing, 5 man instances where NOONE can get to you , i think the relaxed playstyle will suit a lot of ppl more.

Altho there will be some adjustment to be sure with the way the PVP system is setup there. Its very different to what some of our guys are used to.

Just something on the horizon

trust me if theres a way to be greifed i will be

me magnet for dickheads

buffs dont really make as much of a difference in wow as Lineage..there is only 3 real buffs (Intel, Fort and MOTW) that really do anything, they last 30mins or 60mins depending on the skill lvl.

as far as ganking and PVP, it does happen, but the difference is 90% of the time you see an ally you kill him or he kills you, there are times where some will help you, or not attack, but you know what lvl they are (as long as they arent more than 10 lvls above, then they turn skull), you know they are hostile.

the good thing is if you're engaged in pvp, all horde will help you if they are near, duals are just for fun, and there is no way to attack your own faction. so pvp is always set out, you know when and where it will happen most times, so it is avoidable. of course ganking happens, corpse camping sucks, but with a big guild like GU we will be everywhere, and it doesnt take long once we get mounts :D

kurt: yes it is. 3 months is about $50 and the game's about $60 now too.

Post 6

Hahaha if we all moved over WOW will have no idea what hit them :D

Post 7

hehe

I'll be looking for a clan leader for WOW guys :)

Post 10

Yeh im a bit of a WoW Nerd.
I've memorised about 85% of the games quests, zones, skills, talents etc :p

So if you have a question you can ask me, including which race is best, which classes and why, weakness vs strengths of classes etc.
Im pretty on the ball :p

If we do create a guild, i vote we play horde. Not for any reason such as 'omg alliance are all kids', but because the Horde are a bit harder to level, but seem to enjoy owning in Battlegrounds. Plus the undead look plain cool.

Im sure the bananas will enjoy making Taurens too :p

As far as classes go, im leaning towards Undead Warlock.

Im more than happy to setup the guild. Online presence isnt too much of a problem, as you can delegate officers with invite rights, straight away.
The only other thing is we have to decide which server and take a vote if we want alliance or horde as our faction. (Horde ftw).

Kurt - WoW is p2p, yeh.

Post 11

ill give it a try if we go over

Post 12

let me know if you play wow and what server I am on uther server as alliance we have a LOT of aussies in a clan called anzacs very friendly as casual or as hardcore as people want to play

not sure if you will be allowed to create char on that server though but worth a try. I think you guys will enjoy wow .

Post 13

if you switch over to WOW, i'll gladly be in for the first 30 levels or so, going back to uni so won't have an excessive amount of time for it

but having a group of GU/SB crew in WoW would rock

Post 14

Its in the works, do a few sieges and muck around on this free lineage server probably for a few more weeks and then if it gets a bit boring move onto WOW.

I'd like for some of you experienced WOW players to put some posts up if you could about classes, PVP, how they stack up, whats good for what, what classes go best in duo's trios and 5 mans.

I'll organise a WOW subforum to our SB forums

Post 15

i was thinking troll warror as a learning toon just to c how the game works before really chosing a character

Post 16

Wait to see what the other guys have to ssay about it today apathy.

Milenko, Heretic and Fleshy are all wow experts, they can tell us which races are better for certain classes etc etc

Even tho this game doesnt have the same grind as L2 it would be nice to get good chars to start with

Post 17

i think you should all go healers cause im in need of a healer :)

Post 18

knights do you carry your tombstone with you these days it would cut down on the down time:p

Post 19

I would like to hook up with you guys for some WOW action. I'm farming MC/ZG/Onyxia and BWL 3 nights a week atm with my guild on proudmoore (crappy laggy server with weekend queues).

When I'm not doing that I would been keen to spend time levelling a toon with you fellas. Happy to help anyway I can, have 3X60 horde toons and numerous more from 55 down, and know questing and farming from a horde perspective back to front.

A break between farming mats for raids would be nice :)

They do but they also have draw backs in that YOU HAVE TO WAIT 1 HOUR TO GET IN A BATTLE GROUND AS HORDE trust me I know this, thats why I rerolled Allaince. It's better to get rolled then re-join right after then it is to get rolled and have to wait an hour to get rolled again.

Seroisly if you guys want to pvp abit roll allaince.

Post 21

Its not much different for alliance, especially on KT.
My avg wait time for a pvp bg game was 45mins to 1.5hrs, as high as 3 hours.

Post 22

That is also true depends what sever you roll on but on a Oce sever allaince have the insta-ques.
My suggestion would be to roll on Frostmourne decent sever with good economay and good pvp, not to sure on the ques tho over the weekend I'll find out later.

Post 23

Ah ok cool.
Well, the SB crew arent at the stage of chosing a server just yet anyhoo, so no stress :)

Post 24

and dont forget, we are all rolling on the new oceanic server :P starting with J, dunno what it is...

anyway, im in the process of adding everyone to my friends list, and getting a guild together, so we at least know when everyone is online :P

nothing worse than playing alone.

I would not go near frostmourne. you could be in queue for an hour to two hours on a sunday trying to get in the server. i have toons there at mid 40s that I have dropped because of the weekend queues. worse than blackrock.

Post 27

Jebie never ques :)
