The DGA LAN environment is flexible to your needs (within reason, budget, time and space constraints)

Aswell Deus Ex and I, have been experimenting with a WOW server and hoping to set it up for some wars. eg. Everyone starts with highest lvl and basically any items, or whateva the gms decide to give, and have really huge wars.
Still experimenting with it so dont get your hopes up :P

As for comps i think the usaul comps are pretty good but a soldier of fortune comp would be good. As for drinks something like a energy drinks, food same as usaul but maybe something we can heat up in a microwave (maybe some pies or sausage rolls) when we get hungry in the early hours like 1 am. and can we please not move the kettle this time I had to search for it everytime.

If you supply the microwave and the food that can be reheated/microwaved, ill provide the space and adjust the power so it doesnt blow fuses ;)

Dont microwaves wreak havok when out on the same circuit as a PC?

microwaves dont take up that much power, about as much as 2 monitors

Negative owa, for exampla a 900 w microwave will use 900 w at full power, more like 3 full system pcs

my monitor uses about 400 watts

Can't wait to vs some peopel in CSS at this lan, so far ive improved so much since the evo that people are calling me a hacker... its just not fair and i cant have my say against a whole server that i dont:(

and as for the Microwave, isnt there another power point in the kitchen at the very end of the room?

The main problem is that all the power has to come from somewhere, and its the somewhere out on the power pole that blows up. Therefore we try and balance the load inside as much as possible across all the available phases, run only 3 aircons, promote the usage of LCD monitors and the decrease of soundsystems etc. Every little bit of power saved allows someone else to come to an event and have no power interuptions. Sure there are power points in the kitchen and scattered around the room as well, but just plugging things in at random causes the most dramas, hence y most DGA events are setup before time and tested.
Having ranted all this though i will investigate what phase is in the kitchen and try to balance this with the loads across the board, hopefully allowing you freshly nuked food to not stop everyones fun ;)

dunno how far u got with ur emulator, but i got a working warsong gulch now :) ...however 1 person is kinda boring.

having stability issuse with AV and AB, as they are very buggy still.

also got the aq instance (20 man only)

Had a big lan here a few weeks ago- GameServ - The Seige, was setup for 300 ppl.

And another later in April, so im glad i have found somewhere to game. only a smaller LAN.

i will keep an eye on the cyclone. if it does put us onto warning we will have to make a judgement closer to the date.

we need generators, big generators!! greek school will do for a cyclone shelter, and we can still play source ;)

normally it is 12:00 on the saturday.. but please keep an eye on this thread because of Cyclone Monica the event might be postponed.

DGA regretfully announces that DGA39 will be postponed due to the threat of Cyclone Monica.

DGA39 will be rescheduled in the next week of two after talking with the Greek School.

I know it's a bummer and even if the cyclone doesn't come close, a lot of us admins have preparation to do, just in case.

It would be sooooooooooo good to have the next lan on the weekend that includes the 13th May. This is Weasles 18th birthday and i think it is my right as a parent to embarass the heck out of him as payback he he

Has something gone terribly wrong somewhere? I cant get into the DGA site. Can only get into the forums here? Whats happening with the next lan? I have had some really cranky people ask me whats going on especially those who joined their membership at evo asking if they only get one lan for 6 months of their membership. I know we had to cancel because of the threat of the cyclone but if i can help at all please let me know.

I am guessing we are just waiting on the greek school? correct?

Correct, I have just confirmed the 3rd / 4th June as the next available weekend.

I will have to look into why the dga site is down again and see what we can do about it.

Keep checking both here and the dga site when it's back for proper confirmation on this date. :)

I just tried to registar weasel and it says he is already registared but i know he didnt registar already for this one - does this make any sense at all

If anyone knows of some decent venues that we could hold Lans in please bring them to our attention.

they must have aircon, 3 phase power and all the other facilities you need for 48 hrs of gaming (toilets, car parks, etc)

As for the lan being rebooked to the 10-11th, thats fine with me :p gives me more time to speak to my manager about getting off work for the weekend :D
