Yeah like the dumbarse' at the Targa Tasmainia who sets up camp on the outside of a tight left hander at the end of a long straight. Then blames the event organisers when he gets smashed by a mini hehe. Wonder who in his family had the brain cell that day sure as shit wasn't him.

That's a really old video... But the basic story is this.
This was in a time when the camera people were allowed direct access to track surface area. These days, nobody is allowed in the pit area except pit crew. Plus they all have clearly marked lines.
It's really hard for drivers to see some of the people standing on the track if they're there. Firstly the bucket seats cup the whole head, and secondly, they simply don't expect to see a person on a race track.
The photographer shouldn't have been standing in the track, and he should have followed propper safety precautions.
From memory, the photographer suffered a broken pelvis and spinal injuries.
