I have often wondered about the allure of anime. What is it exactly that attracts herds of boys (and some girls) to consume en masse, these cartoons. I took it upon myself to research the topic, first by watching anime to see what's so great about it. To my mind, these cartoons were not radically different to cartoons offered by the west of the world (get it, "west of the world" HA HA!) lots of shows about children saving the world through using their potent super powers. One difference i did notice was rather a lot more cleavage and tight outfits were present. This lead me to believe that the key lied in the actual physical appearance of the characters. I dug deeper and uncovered a SHOCKING truth. My findings are as follows:
I approached the problem by looking at similarities that anime characters shared with other physical beings that also had an allure to them. I first started by comparing them to attractive woman but abandoned this line of research after getting a virus on my research workstation after visiting a website that promised "***I HAVE CENSORED THIS FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF THE FORUM***" in my search for attractive woman, or to use the popular parlance, "hot girls" I was sitting in my offie late one night, when another researcher came in, asking me if i'd seen his mobile phone. Then it struck me like a speeding freight train! The researcher had unbuttoned his lab coat and his t-shirt underneath was in clear view. It was a t-shirt with an alien on it which i would later understand to be a "grey" I immediately persued this line of research, comparing anime characters to Greys and I made the shocking discovery.

Notice the key characterists which set them apart from western cartoon art; they have a large head, situated on a slender neck, very large eyes, small mouth and a very small nose. Anime characters have keen night vision and an advanced sense of small, meaning a large nose is not required.

Note the similarity in physical attributes; eyes, nose and mouth are all very similar. Another thing is the muscle structure of the Grey -- it looks to be very elderly and tired, reinforcing my theory about them being geriatric anime characters.
That just left one thread unpersued. What about Otakus? If anime characters are aliens, then maybe they are in the habbit of kidnapping people and altering their minds to do their bidding on earth. This would explain behavior like this:
