Just paid for an item on eBay through a bank deposit from my commonwealth NetBank account, and not too much later a receive an email from National Australia Bank telling me my account details are out of date and need to be changed.
Now I have never had an account with NAB, the only contact I'm having with them in any way is because I'm transferring money to the seller's NAB account. Looks to me like a scam email to grab my password (even though I don't have an account).
Has anyone else received an email or had a problem like this lately?
happens all the time, NAB, Commonwealth, ANZ, Westpac.. get emails claiming to be from all of them. As your bank will tell you, they will A) never send you an email out of the blue, B) never ask you for your password.
and of course, there's the big issue of email itself not being secure. So yeah, ignore all of those :)
