Basically I am after some ideas on what people would like to see the DGA do this year.
Please note that there is absolutely no guarantee that anything that is suggested will get done.
I will read all the suggestions.
This is along the lines of a suggesion box i suppose.

Personaly I think getting back to the basics is a good start, moving away from the greek school, also more console gaming, PC gaming is good, but getting Consoles running with people playing in Comps with them, even for fun like the chupa chup challange is a good break from sitting in the same spot for hours on end.

anyways. i would like to see more variety of games being played, although i stick to a few in particular, if anyone asks, generally ill play.
we need incentive to play differnet/odd games out there. Games people dont play much...for example...one of my favs Flatout. However what do people think "incentive" to a gamer is? excluding new beaut hardware parts that cost a gabizOMFGllion dollars, and not money cos that is boring.

I'd suggest food goodies ^^ candy, caffiene or alcohol. Grand prize is a big bag of Crunchies, a six pack of coke and some vodka cruisers. I'd suggest weed and Doritos but that's kinda illegal :p

for comps there should be ones where the teams are just randomly grouped together. get people interacting with others etc

Operation flashpoint with FFUR 2006 v2 of the mod would be great (when v2 comes out , which should be soon!)

I got V 3 of Australian Allied Forces..... arty tanks + lots more jets and UAV plane. Best team multiplayer mod out there (BF2) i think... soon to have snow and night maps
Just wait another 6 days for savage 2: a Tourted Sole beta to come out and play that....... It will be free to play at lan

Does DGA run a permanent CSS server or a server for any game that's hosted the whole lan through? Gamers dont like having to server hop all day. They will get bored and start leeching.

They did last time.... but no one played on it much. I had my one going with the RPG mod running which attracted quite a few.

i know some dudes who have there own game server :D , they might be able to run a game on their server for online competitions for dga only teams to do some sort of ongoing ladder style competition? for example css 2v2 comp, find a sponsor, someone like EB to put up a couple of gift vouchers for the winner? just a thought:)

I got stats working on my server.... It is a points based system. 1 pt for normal rifel kill. 1.4 for like pistols and shottys. Ya get points for defusing and planting the bomb. and so on and so forth. Happened at nos everyone had a game all at onece For an hour and a half and and the person at the top of the ladder won. Had a mysql server up on a computer which displayed the stats.

Op flashpoint is very very outdated now, a completely different style of gameplay. Waaay more realistic mind you, but would be a bitch to setup and org.
When does op flash 2 come out??

Armed Assault (flashpoint 2) is not out for a while.

Has anyone looked into the feasability of portable airconditioners (ie, cost, how much area they cover, would we need more than one or two).
This would help in finding a venue I believe.

Has anyone approached any real estate people? I know there are heaps of huge office spaces not being used around town. Maybe they would like to get some money for them once every couple of months rather then have them sit empty.

The university Scout hall used to be home to a private LAN or two i used to attend, but the site's not very big and it is not airconditioned.
The same goes for the scout-hall in the Darwin/Fanny-Bay area.

Yeh those ideas sound pretty good im more of a console gamer as well.
Since i have a shite computer. Ummm maybe if someone willing to bring along xboxs we could have a little halo 2 and what not...
And not sure if it's a good idea. but maybe someone could offer to bring along a tv to watch some movies and what not while you're relaxing from uber pwnage :D
