Looks like the bottleneck is going to be accross the single HyperTransport bus from the pci express tunnel interface to the dual core interface. But in essense I dont see a large computational advantage unless they seperate the proccessing bus from the data bus with the dual cores. Because they're still relying on doing it cheap with one single bus to achieve both tasks.
Also considering that most games/software that your intrested in will be compiled for x86 instruction set and no optimisation for dual cores or 4x4 cores. You are not going to see a major significant increase in your FPS in your games.
The advantages come from running server systems that you can fork off one proccess to one dual core and another into the remaining one.
For gaming needs Its a fail, for server systems its a win.
Final note too, dont get sucked into the marketing hype. Try to find the white paper on the chipset configuration and the advantages it ACTUALY offers instead of trusting the marketing people. Typical marketing people are considering the bottom line and trying to push the technology out the door like a used car sales man. Instead try to find the white paper that is typicaly writen by a hardware enginner who can clearly exsplain the pros and cons of the chipset.
Considering all the hype they're giving about multi cores, dual cores, multi cards with multi dual cores. All the marketing people are actualy doing is confusing the **** out of the consumer basis. No wonder so many gamers are running to Xbox 360, because its a standalone system that they can simply purchase the game, plug and play. Ironic, that the success of PC hardware is starting to become its own downfall.
LOL That sounds like the best advice eva. Remember if its even a .01% increase the marketing crew will call it the best and the fastest thing eva.
lol. 2 seeing retail boxes advertising things that the entire range has...
and ROFL to those customers that buy one brand over the other for that reason...
Remember. HOMEWORK.
Wonder what they are gonna do for cooling, cause that would be generating some heat
found at bottom of white paper....
"due to cooling issues AMD 4x4 can not be used in darwin....Actually it can not be used in any place other than antarctica"
yeah came to the same conclusion Smurf about the chip.
For the average user its not going to do ahell of alot even in speed or actualy usability for that matter. I think the average user will have more problems been created by drivers and software that has been built for a single core than a multicore.
anyway, www.youos.com has me intrested in the future of desktop computer.
Anyway alittle offtopic but setup and account on www.youos.com and give the virtual os a try. Im starting to think that the future of desktop computing for the average user will be all run within a web browser.
But thats just bashing about the bush, but have a look.
