apparently Chris Carter wants to set up a giant Metagame where you get to choose one of the 3 factions, and actually have your battles mean something.
taking planets and sectors ect, I have no idea how it will work, but I think it would be freaking cool :)

really? the only problem we ever had MP was that occasionally the game would get confused and think we had pirated it so it would start a round .. you'd begin building and then your dozer would explode along with all anything you'd started constructing and it'd spit you into spectator mode.
never had any crashes. We only played 2 people + 4 bots though, maybe it was issues with more humans you had?
