Looking for someone who has had theirs done.
Wanting to know how it went and who did it and how much it cost you.
Want somone decent to do ours not a rip off artist.
Need some info at this stage.

Chips are "5-$30. I wouldn't pay more than $80 for the work (it takes less than 15-20 minutes). Don't know of anyone in Darwin though, I'm sorry.

I just got mine done with the DUOX 2 chip they are about 30 bucks,
so if you find someone whos good at soldering there are plenty of awesome howtos on google on soldering them up

I got mine done in Consoletronics, $59 install including DuoX2 chip. However, Diva doesn't live in Sydney and doesn't have the luxury of visiting Quantronics or Consoletronics. :)

I've chipped a couple and as Rip said, if you're feeling brave, or know someone half competent with a soldering iron, its not that hard to do yourself.
Spero's mate is probably your best option, providing he is offering some sort of guarantee. I know of a dude who got his xbox serviced at 'Everything Electronics' out at palmo, so perhaps they chip them too.
It depends what you want to mod it for really. If you want to be able to back up your games and/or run xbmc, chip it. If you just want to turn it into a pc and run linux, you dont even need to open the hood.
Kronk and myself have been slowly getting sort of a mini how-to together you can check out here if you want. Its far from complete atm, but there are some links to some other good sources of information. Its a wiki btw... so you're all welcome to fix any errors while your there ;)
