Update: Games/Services on the DGA server

Basic services running on the DGA server/s

DHCPd runnings a 192.168.2.0/23 subnet (not 100% sure till I get my hands on it)
DNS

So this machine should be setup correctly for when DGA gets its internet at some stage in the game.

Games:

BF2: With or without bots
POE2 (BF2 Mod) : <== This mod doesnt come with bots

CS:S
ET
UT2004
F.E.A.R - Fear combat is a free download, don't forget to signup to the website to get a key if you wish to play this.

Also note that I don't play half of these games and we have set them up to the best of our skill :p with that in mind CS:S is installed but because I don't play the game I have no idea how fusspot CS:S people like this game setup:p .

Also a side note: not all of the games are going to be available at the same time, the server is only a 3500+ and the other is PIII 1.4Ghz

BF2 currently has all the 16player versions of the maps in the cycle with bots turned on. Im looking forward to checking out jalalalalbad at the dga.

POE has been setup and although it is a superb mod, it will likely be a rather lonely server without bots. :(

Since it is nearly a 2gb download it has been downloaded and will be available at the DGA via FTP. Unfortunately we havent been able to get the awesome FEARcoop mod to work with the free release as of yet so there are no bots (unless someone can figure it out of course.)

Rumour has it that Lothar is working at getting a hl2stats server up and running for all you CSS players to compete on.

There has also been an IRC server set up for people to idle in :P .

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. If anyone knows of any good games that could prove popular with the masses (and has a dedicated linux server of course) be sure to post up some links to it and we (Rip :grin: ) will see what we can do...

Ill be trying to bring any required patches for the servers, also DGA starts on saturday and ill be updating it at about 11pm Friday night just to make sure it has the latest updates.

P3 1.4. Is that the G2. How did it go if it is and does it run fast enough?

Yeah the install and everything went fine on the G2, should be fast enough for some of the games, not sure about BF2 POE but its a good test ;)

I have another ready for pickup next week

i have a p4 2.8 512 ram and tnt2 lying around all it needs is windows reinstalled it could be a mighty good server if someone has the 3 hour loving time for it :)

I can set it up as one, but may not have enough time before this lan.

If the admins after this dga, or need a quick update of the servers during this dga of games remember I live about 1.3k from the Bridge club and have 10,000mb @1.5 Mbits/sec for use at home.

I shall see them in the am for more.
