Darwin Gamers Associated DGA 41

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

Time - 10am Saturday 11th - 10am Sunday 12th November

Venue - Darwin Bridge Club (Leanyer Drive, Leanyer)

Numbers - 40 people. This is a SET number if you do not CONFIRM when you register you WILL be turned away at the door.

Costing - "0 members $20 non members

MEMBERSHIP - $5 Will make you a member.

Info - Well here we go again. We are back at the Bridge Club and have some new ideas that we are throwing around.

With the help of those on ADSL with Internode, We are going to try and provide a server that will have files direct from Internodes File server. These files will include game updates, demos, movies etc etc. We will provide limited driver support but will not provide server files or anything like that as we dont see the need to.

***CONSOLE GAMERS*** We are looking at testing an XBOX/PS@ etc Corner this lan. For you we will supply a TV, with speakers and a small sub box. You will need to bring your own Console of choice if you intend to use the TV. Volume will be monitored so be wary.

We are again going to set up the same as the last lan. Staff will be at the front of the room, so if any questions need to be asked come grab us and we will help you all out.

We will be doing another Pizza run with the help of Domino's Pizza Casuarina.

**PLEASE NOTE**
Those that register and dont show (we have a list from last lan) will be frowned upon before next lan.
If you are not able to let us know, for a legit reason that is fine, however you ARE taking a spot for somebody who wants to come. We had this problem for DGA 40, if this becomes a habit, you may find yourself not being granted entry to future DGA's.

Any questions throw them here.

i think something like xfire running so you can easily see what is being played without having to walk the rows ?

Post 3

so i take it if you pay for membership on the day you still pay the $20 entrance?

Post 4

Awesome. Will definately be at this one.

*just hoping that my Dell 24" LCD monitor will arrive in time*

Are there still going to be restrictions with eskys?

Also, maybe we could starttup a list of who can pick up who and how much space they will have in their vehicles?

Post 5

There was plenty of room last time for eskys but no one brought them :P I was hoping to bring an esky and put it under my table this time...

Post 6

as long as there is room it should be ok but please be reasonable and think of the space restrictions and of others ie dont bring a huge big esky and definately dont bring one that will leak all over the floor - may have to ask unseen etc about keeping the eskies off the carpet

Post 7

i brought my esky to DGA 40 it was under the table and i made sure that it did not leak

the darwin tabletop gamers had no complants about the cleen up from the last Lan. just to let you all know

ill bring my ps2 and controlers if some one wants to gring some games

Post 8

Soooo will there be any prizes this time

Post 9

At this point in time, the main focus of DGA is to build up numbers in a fun environment (which I think was definitely achieved at the last LAN).

Short answer - not at this LAN. But soon....

Post 10

Interested in a net connection at this LAN via wireless? My place is just up the road.

Post 11

That would be nice for those few who didn't get all of the latest patches & need to check up on the outside world etc. but imagine the amount of data that will be downloaded.

Not sure where u can put the directional .. As without express concent from the Bridge Club noone will be climbing on the roof or whatever ..

There is a big paddock out the back though so if you can muster up a portable wide up or something that would work really well .. I cant see them allowing us to put anyhting on the roof, there isnt even an antenna for tele

Post 24

have u got a roof rack unseen :)

Post 25

no
:( cost too much

Post 27

What we had for testing was a ute with a 6m Pole bracketed to it, seemed to work well. Might be able to use that again. but again its all testing atm as we honestly haven't gotten a proven link to anywhere yet.

That said we "should" be able to see futa, momo etc... still waiting on what we can do at the church.

Cheers
Rip

Now that I have finally cleaned up my PC, (lol at the frantic amount of games that I have installed in it) as DGA 41 was my first LAN, I would like to say a big thankyou to Brownie, Longtom, Spiritwalker, SpongeJr, and the admin team for lending me a hand with getting games to run properly in time for the various games which were being held all over the place.

Thanks guys, now we look ahead to Evo....
