Just for those interested. After many years, my project is finally kicking off. A few months ago, I managed to find the mythical 1GZ-FE (V12 Toyota Engine), after four long years of searching.
It's going in the Supra with two turbo's attached to either side. So I'm pretty excited.
Never been done. It's completely new, and out there. Just finding the engine was a walk through hell and back. Now it's rebuild time, and stripping down should be started within the next week or so. There's one other fellow who's in Darwin for work at the moment who's also got his hands on one, but lives in NSW. I'm going to a straight TT setup.
grats Steven i heard you where looking for one of those finally found one eh Did it set you back much and did you ge tthe half cut or just the motor? what size turbos you looking at running and engine managment soo many fkn questions man this thing will be awsome when you get it done man cant wait to see it.
i think there is one other guy down south doing the same conversion (mybe no into supra) on toymod.org might be worth talking to. it's really hard to find much info on the 1gz-fe let alone parts.
Yeah, that'd be me and Tan. Both of us are putting it into Supra's. We've got similar idea's but we're doing it differently. That said, we're sharing a few things. I'm going to develop the dry sump for both of us.
1GZ-FE is the penultimate road engine from Japan. It's the only road going engine produced in Japan that's greater then 8 cylinders. As it stands, nobody there has produced a V10 for road vehicles there either... So we're very excited.
This is incidentally the thread in question at Toymods. Pictures and laydown is all there.
