Good and bad, least now we will get some new blood into the team.

Certainly will change the Aussie side a fair bit with so many leaving, although I reckon it's a good thing too.

shame to see langer go, can't think of another person that seems to be so proud to play for his country.

yeh, its a strange thing to happen really.

first, the media gave them heaps for being old goons. then, they come out guns blazing and we beat the pants off the poms. now, after proving them so passionately wrong, they're all tossing in the towel. bit sad.

then again, I 'spose if you're set on retiring, going out on a high in peak-form is better than watching yourself lose that confidence and slowly fade from the lime-light.

there are no tests for 11 months after the ashes finishes. imo they go out having comprehensively won the biggest contest there is in test cricket, they have nothing left to prove to anyone, every trophy in the game is in their cabinet.

it's been an absolute honour and privilege to be alive and watching this aussie team, it's the end of an era no doubt but i for one am thankful to have been witness to it.

Hear hear! Australia's utter domination in international cricket has been an awesome thing to be around to watch. It's sad to see such a large number of retirements in one go because they're all players we've loved to watch.
I'm certain that there's plenty of talented younger players just itching for their chance to wear the baggy green.
The team as it stands now, will be celebrated for a very long time to come. Best way to finish your career IMO

There was a Warnie TV special last night, and I think a quote he passed on (I can't recall the original person) summed it up well - better to have them wonder why you are retiring now, than have them questioning why you didn't earlier.

It certainly will change the "feel" of the side with 3 veterans retiring, I only hope we have the depth of talent to maintain Australia's apparent dominance of world cricket.

The way Cricket Australia has treated some of their older players and staff (Border, Simpson, Healy, Waugh's) you cant blame them for jumping on their own terms before they're pushed. We still dont even know what happened to Marto. No player would stick around to the harm of their team if they weren't cutting it anymore. I think CA needs to have a good look at how they treat our legends.
