so of course everyone else leaves cause the server is nearly empty
leaving all non-nap GUers in a dead server

Gu server is great yet it is under used.
Why?

its not a popular server .. ie if people are on then people will join and play ..
its like all servers you look you pick a server with a decent amount of players.
The other thing that works is a variety in maps,. fun maps / war maps / silly maps etc .. just thoughts

is the GU server located in darwin?
And i think to get players to join that server from non GU you will want to make it Popular maps (a rotation of the best, but underplayed maps) and then people will want to join it
thats just my opinion - from someone who plays CSS a LOT... lol

When the gu people join we usually get 5 randoms coming in or so. Map rotation is good and there is usually a server admin in the house to change the map if it is required.
The nap gun game server is %50 of the time got non gu people in it. And as such if 2 or 3 people jump in it gets full quickly.
As of the location of the server I think it is in sydney but i could be rong. Most people in darwin on ADSL get pings less than 100 to the server.
