Post 2

Hope its boring like the Aust vs England game at the Gabba ;)

Post 3

jealous imo

Post 4

dropped
man nz need to hang onto them

Post 5

NZ appear to have eaten a round of butter sandwiches before taking to the field today.

and yes Pala, I'm jealous, was at the Gabba for the Aus vs Eng game, and it was boring as bat poo...so you shouldn't get to observe a fun game either ;)

EDIT: had more fun heckling the English fans near us :)

Post 6

Ponting is playing well.

Hayden lucky to be dropped as is playing for his spot in the side after recent disappointments.

The only saving grace for NZ is it may be a little cooler when they come out to bat.

Post 7

Great century from Haydos :D

Loved the over 34 power play. Explosive cricket.

Post 8

come on symonds get your feet in and then ****ing smash it

Post 9

WAHOOO 6
*runs around with undies on head*

Post 10

YES ****ing another 6 wahooo

Post 11

Mr Cricket with a great 6 :)

Post 12

And Australia finishes 5/343, absolutely fantastic :D

Post 13

six hot chicks on the ground trying to take catches during the break, woo! what a top day to be at the cricket. hussey is ten times better than bevan ever was.

Post 14

Ok.. that was a sharp innings from Aust. Let's see what NZ can pull out

no way man

Post 16

Good lightning show from where u are Pala?

Post 17

What a great day at the cricket....

Stinking hot to start with, but got nice and cool at the end of the day.

Was up in a Bogan stand, so I had to totally bogan it up, mexican waves, Cup snakes, a wave from every player on the field..

Only bad point was leaving at the rain, thought it was all over.

All in all, fantasic day, I got to see hussey hit a six, and bracken kick a ball away from the fun police and back into the crowd.

not a patch on darwin lightning :D but sitting up in the members stand had a great view of the lightning behind the ground, was a great accent to oram's hitting, the guy is a monster

no way man

bevan could finish a match, but he couldn't set up a big total, hussey is the man, he hit three sixes this innings, i think bevan hit three in his entire career.

Post 21

Hussy is god, that is all :P

Yeah, members would have been okay pala, but you know, then we wouldn't have our cup snake :P. Section A for life :P

Post 22

haha. i got a photo of that. was gold :)

Maybe not 10x, but a more than adequate shoe filler, with a more complete game.

Glad to see the Aussies get to bat first, I'm sick of the cricket being finished by dinner time!

Post 24

i'm a bevan hater :P (well not hater, he had some great moments), but i think his career stats are inflated.

thinking your opinion matters to others? yes, i call that pretentious

The fun begins! :P

Post 26

never claimed not to be, at least i manage it in a short sentence and not half a page of prose that not even mills & boon would touch ;)

Post 27

I'm distributing the code for that quote to GU users on MSN as we speak.

Your opinion will never be safe from sharp, quick and concise replies with your own quote, ever again.

*que evil laughter

Post 28

there's also a very subtle, yet meaningful difference between responding to someones opinion with your own opinion (that would be called a discussion), and starting a thread for the sole purpose of letting everyone know your opinion (that would be called pretentious soapboxing :))

but one of those sixes was when australia needed 4 runs off one ball... now THAT is a sport i can follow.... not this 4 billion balls to go, lets whack it any old way we want... no style to it ;)

According to you, perhaps. But for the sake of argument, maybe I should paste that quote in the following threads you started recently...

LOL you've spent the last 2 hours researching that reply havent you rec? =)

Post 32

go ahead, the first was inviting other people to post and comment on the team selection, leading to a productive discussion, the second two are, as mentioned previously, short concise statements and not pages of drivel :)

Post 33

Ah I see, yours are merely invitations for discussion or concise comments, while mine are drivel.

And you were calling me pretentious! :)

praise the lord! the blind can see again!

Post 35

At least you guys "argue" in a constructive and thought out manner, rather than resorting to the meaningless name calling crap you all too often see on forums.

And now, a different perspective:

voicing your opinion publicly is one thing, but believing anyone else cares what you think is entirely another.

a mate sent this through of australia day in perth later that evening/night. not sure if he actually took it, but meh.. a great photo none the less :D

Post 38

Nice pic that. It was taken with the shutter open by the way, you can tell as some of the people are shadows. Nice pic though.

Post 39

Great pic.. its now my background :)

Post 40

looks like it's taken on or near cottlesloe, the city lights would be freo i suspect

Post 41

i dont get it, why are they letting fireworks off before dark?
and why the hell are they sitting on a beach with an electric storm coming?

Post 42

because its not fully dark in perth until 10pm, kids are in bed by then. as for the storm, its well away from land.

Post 43

Is it before dark, or just a time exposure capturing more light from all the fireworks?

Post 44

yeh, I think it's just time-exposed light. apparently that's the Mc Naught Comet in the middle there, which just happened to co-incide with australia day and the storm - so it's exposed to nab all three. the shadows on the beach behind people look like they're from the fireworks flashes.

Post 45

it wasn't the coment.

Points and laughs.

Go have a coffee :)

Post 47

in the middle of it, shutup. you're not allowed to post within 30 seconds before i've even edited the damn thing.

anyway, pretty sure it's not the comet, since the photo is taken looking south, and the comet was pretty much due west.

Post 48

hmm, not sure then, he said the comet was in the photo. I guess that could be a plane, and one of the little dots is the comet - but that's a far less interesting tale.

so ignore him, the comet is in the middle. :p

Post 49

looks possibly maybe photoshopped, to include the comet among other things
