Spoken in response to my 'very innocent' question as the whether he'd seen the WOW southpark episode ;)
sensitive spot hey Knighty hehe
a) are you running ups monitoring software?
b) what brand ups is it?
powerware 500va
no software is used and i dont monitor it or anything like that
so no serial/usb cables connecting it to your pc?
only happens with wow? no other games that might cause gfx power draw?
aint tested with other games yet, nop no cables.
ok was making a racket when i tried to play NWN2 just then so i ripped out the TV and monitor and xbox from the USP and put it on a powerboard and its not making any noised now
stupid thing
sounds like overload alarm, you shouldn't have tv and xbox in there, 500va is probably borderline sufficient for running an average gamer PC. I know 350VA won't even hold up just my pc, let alone my monitors.
lol i got a powerware 750 va and it doesn't even handle my pc and my monitor anymore, let alone tv and xbox

Very observant of you Harb :P hehe.
if you had told me you had a tv, xbox, Power sucking pc and LCD monitor on a 500 va i would of slapped you
my 500 use to go nuts when i went over a quarter volume with my Logitech speakers :P hehehe.
if you really want a UPS that'll handle that much load knight id suggest you buy atleast a 2000 +
ya, I had a Powerware 5110 1500va and it couldn't power my PC & Monitor at the same time.
