Wow - not for the squeamish.
Definitely (Knight - note the spelling of this word ;-)) one to watch for the rev-head crowd.

If only they where ninja's...
Wow...now thats a rough add. Its also the reason you wont catch me hooning on public roads, not so much what I can do to myself but living with what I did to someone else.

yeah. we need more ads like this.
this is reality. this is what happens when cars hit people.
they get mangled, bloody, and/or die.
We have something like that but not as good.

No matter how gruesome the commercials can be, people never learn. Have a look at the road toll Australia wide and the results are shocking.
In defence of hoons and smokers
Australia's easily one of the safest countries on earth.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_safety : 8 deaths per billion kms traveled),
Hell just reading off of the back of my cigs tells me the chances of them killing me are 19,019 in 20 million a year against 1,731 in 20 milion a year for a fatal motor vehicle accident.
The odds are massively stacked in favour of life so relax. Life is good. The chances for a sudden vehicle induced death have never been lower. Stop with the fear mongering, hell acording to this pack even Alcohol kills 2,831 in 20 million a year and how many of your are expressing your public outrage on forums everywhere for prohibition to be introduced?.
Don't buy into this idea of a glorius nanny-state for all. Most things worth doing will kill you in the end, your only responsibilty is to make sure no bystanders go down with you. Old age is retribution for a life lived wrong.
Dont get old. Don't be a burden on the economy later on. Be a patriot. Light up and join the winners in flavor country. This material will help get you started.

Yeah see the point is, we don't care if you kill yourself.
We do care if you take people out with you.

As Milenko said, and as I said in my post...it's not hurting yourself thats the problem. If people want to kill themselves or do things that put their lives in danger, then thats fine. But don't destroy the life of some innocent bystander for your "fun". Take it to a track where everything is controlled and everyone knows the risks and CHOOSES to take that risk...not somewhere where some innocent kid gets cleaned up through no choice of his own but the irresponsible actions of others.

How about instead of showing skewed facts based upon the size of a country's landmass, show us stats of every car on the road to the number of secondary victims (People in other cars, pedestrians, cyclists, etc).

I'm going to assume that your post was meant in humour, because to be honest, that link you posted is quite funny.
But for those who did take this seriously, we're not talking about "the odds being stacked in your favour" - because when we forget about that nasty c-word (no, the other c-word - consequences) that's when we take stupid risks, and do stupid things.
It's not about living a life expecting the worst all the time, but just being sensible, and thinking things through before being stupid (mainly speaking about on the road here).
Oh, and the other reason I have to assume that post was meant in humour? I don't believe that there exists people stupid enough to believe that tripe, so surely you meant it all in jest......
When you get behind a wheel you're empowered with a deadly weapon - enough people don't recognise or appreciate this fact.
Great adverts.
Wow, talk about when bad jokes go incredibly wrong, calm the hell down of course I'm not a proponent for the reckless use of motor vehicles in public spaces because innocent, uninvovled people will eventually get hurt. But I do support the reckless use of motor vehicles in general they make loud noises and its fun. Same applies to smoking except you look cool when your doing it. Hell do both at the same time and your half way to becoming the fonz.
But still dont buy into the Tracey Grimshaw anti-car bullshit a 1.3litre excel/matiz hatch back will make you just as dead as a 5 litre Torana/Falcon, the idea that hotted up cars kill people is a false one. It all comes down to the driver in the end. Say no to driver's age to power to weight ratio restrictions and/or occupance limits. Write to your congressman today! People need fast cars for completely legitimate reasons which there are plenty of.
No, a 16year old should NOT be in charge of anything with more than 100HP. Sorry.

Examples?
Get to the servo fast for a pack of smokes and an iced-coffee.
and like
Racing your friends.

You sir are a dick.. grow up... use your brain
They had some good speed Ads when I was in Melb for holidays last, about every 5km/h counts with some chick being hit in slow mo.
Same with the Adds for saving power with millions of black balloons.

Let's not resort to name calling guys - if you're slagging someone off despite how ludicrus you believe their opinion is, it's because your own brain hasn't developed enough to deal with confrontation in a mature manner. :)
"Young driver statistics
In 2005, 30% of drivers killed were aged between 18 and 25 years. And yet, this age group only represents 14% of Victorian licence holders."
http://www.tacsafety.com.au/jsp/content/NavigationController.do?areaID=12&tierID=1&navID=CC348A57&navLink=null&pageID=171
that stat speaks for itselfs
Tell you what if the dickhead in the F250 who slammed into to the back of my dad had been driving a 1.3l excel he would most likely not have been force on to disability for the rest of his life.
The only people with a legitimate reason to drive a fast car on public roads are the cops who need to catch the dickheads with your sort of attitude.
yeah ok rec read some of your posts over the years.. you cant talk... its my view i can say what i like about this issue..
I'm not saying I'm perfect matey. This is an example of "do what he says and not what he does," because as much as it's hypocritical, you know it's right. :)
Not to mention the fact that he's obviously having some fun at your expense - the more you bite, the more fun he has.
Maybe we should formally introduce <sarcasm> tags for people with no sense of humour.
I'll get Dan on it! :P
Well in the end, it doesn't matter if you have a bigger car then mine and you speed because in the city I'll catch up to you at the next set of traffic lights.
Car sizes generally are not to blame, its the people that sit behind the steering wheel that need a bit of re education.
Why speed? So you can reach your destination 5 minutes earlier? Stop been a dickhead and think for a change.
I think all cars needs to have GPS locators on them, so when you speed the police gets notified and if you are a repeat offender, you go to a "federal pound me in the arse prison".
There have been many ideas about implementing devices in all cars which will actually limit the speed of your vehicle to the speed limit of the area you're travelling in (recieving live speed limit information from a main database/server).
I guess it's just too expensive and impractical, for whatever reasons (otherwise they would have already done it). Perhaps it's simlpy matter of the government losing far too much money if we weren't paying speeding fines.
