Here is a good news story worth talking about. A man in Britain has been hailed as a hero when intervening in a hold up. He was shot in the chest during the robbery. In an interesting twist the youth who was named via the media was identified as a gamer. Adam Mapelson was identified wearing a Pure Pwnage hat. This lead to bloggers and gamers online being able to identify Adam as a Counter-Strike player.

It is reported that his actions saved the security guard's life at the scene. Further to this some ingenious people have managed to track down his myspace site. His gaming interests also include: Grand Theft Auto, Oblivion, and NeverWinter Nights. It was reported that Adam was fighting for his life in hospital.

It would be good to see the gaming community rally around Adam and jump on his myspace site and wish him the best. It seems that gaming cops a bad rap more often than not. Hopefully this news story will highlight some of the positives and not the negatives.

Some positive press for gamers. Hope he recovers well.

ahhh he will be fine, re-spawn next round no problems :)

Just as lucky he didn't get shot in the head otherwise the news media would have plugged in the sound effect from CS "HeadShot........"
