A Sony Ericsson patent has just been filed. Some big name mobile manufacturers have made some woeful attempts to include a portable games system (Nokia with their N-gage product, for example).

However, going the other way around, it might just work.

I'd buyt it. ;)

while this would be a great hit for the teenage male market i just dont know how much it will really stick.
look at the ngage, how many people atcually bought them? i think i have meet 1-2 people who made the purchase.
also the psp was a great invention but the amount of games for it were lacking and people didnt want to pay the money for the usd disks or movies as much as they could of hoped.

if they can make this product as small and thin as the nokia n series or the imate jasjam phones and find a more common media source for distributing games and movies i think it would be more of a success. sometime like a sd card that is read only, that way the games and movies can be watched on the PC and the psp phone.

i wish them all the best, id like to see something beat the ipod in portable device sales. i dont like seeing apple on the top :)

I just can't appreciate playing games on my mobile phone.

I wish they'd develop a game using PTT + Bluetooth instead. Sorta like laser tag or something...

Post 4

You're both missing the point. This isn't games on your mobile, this isn't even N-gage (woeful)... it'd be a PSP (hugely successful, PS2 games/graphics) with a phone in it.

lol calling psp hugely successful is comic

Post 6

It isn't in comparison to the DS, but in the large scheme of sales and market success, it most certainly is.

I think part of the N-Gage's failure, was the fact it looked like you were holding a crumpet to your head.

Post 8

If I had a crumpet.. I would demonstrate. In any case, what's wrong with a crumpet?

I wouldn't buy something like this. It's never going to be what you want it to be. There's always going to be some sort of compromise. Until they can make a mobile phone/PDA/games device the size of my watch that can project a holographic image of the game area into the empty space in front of me then it's not worth it. Might as well just die.

i own a psp :) :P but i wouldnt dare waste a cent on a sony phone in my life.

I prefer to get a 9 mm and shoot myself in the head.

They're actually pretty reliable; amongst the top 3 at least (Samsung, Nokia, Sony).
