Hey anybody on here who is an admin. how do you get a. animated avatar. a few of the guys have them, but it doesn't let you upload gifs... sorry to sound nub, but can somebody tell me how to change it to the correct file type to upload the gif i want as my avatar, any help would be appreciated, cheers :)

If it isnt animating, its because the filesize is too large, or its pixel dimensions are too high, usually.

Its never worked for me either. It's been like that for a long time, I brought it up in the suggestion thread awhile back. They said they'd fixed it but it still wasnt/isnt working.

Ive tried doing .gif avatars but mine never worked :(

need to have imagemagik setup on the gu server. that way it will resize the gifs for us. unless ofcourse the gu gods say otherwise...

would be handy and its simple to setup, or is it already setup, just only certain usergroups can use it.

The ones I try are within the size limits. It says I cant use animated gifs, not that they are too big.

I'd say you need them activated by request in that case.

It's already setup and verified to work in vb. Took me ages too (emerge -av imagemagick ;) )

lol. windows had a few more steps then that, but not exactly difficult.

wish windows had the equivalent of apt-get or whatever it is.
