I've been playing DiRT and Rugby 08 on my PC using my PS3 controller, so I thought I'd spread some love and let you all in on how to get it working.
Attached is the application you'll need to install which contains the releveant drivers.
1. Download it, extract and install the driver application (tick "Create Desktop Icon" during setup). 2. Plug in your Sixaxis via USB. 3. Run the "SixaxisDriver" shortcut. 4. Click "Load Driver" if the application is not reporting "Driver OK"
I've used this method in Vista Ultimate 32 and XP 32 successfully.
To test that it's working, go into "Game Controllers" in your control panel, and make sure that "PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller" is listed.
If it's not, you may need to press the PS button to have the PC/application recognise that it's there, and then load the driver.
If it is there, double click and fiddle with the buttons/sticks to ensure it's registering the input. If it's not registering any input... well, Google is your friend (you're on your own!). ;)
very disapointed in the ability for it to detect weather its running thru hdmi or av i put it on my tv and then on my girlfriends to find i have to go home and change it from hdmi back to avi

Almost all stores now have the 2 games + 2 controllers 60GB model bundle for $998. Surely he can't have missed that!
Keeping in mind this special bundle offer actually expires on the 31st of August. Sony hasn't revealed what's happening next, but I assume they'll replace our bundle with an 80gb PS3 pack (no games, 1 controller) just like the USA.
Rumour has it that the bundle is just their way of clearing old stock (like the price-drop did in the USA).
Not a bad move Poon; there aint gonna be many great titles out until close to Christmas anyway. I don't regret buying mine on launch (I got 2 games and the console for less than "150 anyway), but now looking at things, it wouldn't have hurt to wait.
I bought mine at JB recently, mate works there, $886 for 1 cont, singstar with 2 mics, devil may cry 4, HDMI -> DVI, then another HDMI -> HDMI for $55.
Playing through sonic the hedgehog as well, **** he's fast good fun if your a sonic fan.
Watching my divx movies on the PS3 appears to be a better quality picture then watching it on my computer, and the PS3 normalises the sound level to a decent amount of dB unlike my pc so I don't have to try max my speakers to hear whats going on.
Watched that Wanted movie with angelina jolie in it (d/l version) fkn good shit definitely worth a view.
Sorry to bring up an old thread. I've the driver and i've used the PS3 controller on FIFA 10, but it doesnt seem to be detected in Rugby 08. Reading the read-me vile, it doesnt say that the PS3 Controller is supported. Any ideas?

I'm not sure why, sorry. Fiddling around with the SIXAXIS/Dual Shock 3 for Windows is tedious at the best of times.
The best advice I can give is to go spend some money on an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows. If you like using a gamepad on your PC, it's a priceless investment.
