Quote from My Favourite Bits:
Lead developer Alan Flores states in a GameSpot interview that there will be "over 70 songs"

One - Metallica

An original song composed and performed by Slash of Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses

An original song composed and performed by Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave

"We've got a lot of songs and artists still that we would love to have. In particular, we've been trying to get Metallica, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. So hopefully sometime in the near future, my wish and everybody's wish will come true and we can get some of their music in the game

Co-op Career
IGN announced that the game will include a 2-player co-op mode, like Guitar Hero II, however it will be a Career-style gameplay, therefore allowing two players to play through 6 of the 8 sets with different encores to unlock. However there will not be any boss battles in this mode. As in Guitar Hero II, one player will play bass guitar/rhythm guitar and one player will play lead guitar

Post 4

two streets up from work ;)

Post 5

:|

I'll kill people to play this in two weeks.

Dammit man why do you live in perth. Curse you!

Post 6

wikipedia puts the release date at october 28 for america... i should probably call them and confirm :)

Post 7

Well, if they are getting it in store on the 22nd, its a possibilty, that wiki date has been there for ages...

Post 8

Store.... yeah, thats what it is :P

Post 9

As far as I know 7th of November is a solid date for GH3 and I am pretty sure something like this will have a strict street date. Our dates (EB) got pushed back a week in the computer not long ago. That said it could change still if something happens higher-up...
At this point in time I'm willing to call bullshits :P

Post 10

pala always gets everything early :P its not the roughest.

not too loud i hope... don't want the neighborhood to to hear the constant sounds of Fail when you miss a note :P

Post 21

i'm two songs away from clocking gh2 on expert, and i've five starred 95% of hard, there aren't gonna be that many fail notes :P

Post 22

ive only got 1 song left on each of the 3 games, Cowboys from hell, Jordan, and Extreme.

i just couldnt take anymore, extreme i could probably do, but jordan and cowboys from hell are seriously retarded.

Hopefully my Warfdale's are up for the pounding they will get when my copy arrives :D

Post 23

um...eeek

Post 24

love dragonforce.

You know whats really scarey if you havent seen that before, but they didnt even include the solo. so if you think thats hard, wait untill you see the whole thing. :)

Post 25

So kane, whats the latest? When can i expect my copy to arrive? :P

oh and where did you get your Klipsch's from? saw the note on facebook :P I've wanted to get some of them but had to import them which would make it rediculously expencive.

Post 26

they lied to me :'( i got the klipsch's from harvey norman, which made them ridiculously expensive anyway :)

Post 27

wow harvey norman...they must be getting more mainstream, woohoo!

haha you got swindled, oh well, only another week to go anyway :)

Post 28

only ended up getting a 5.1 setup. couldn't for the life of me figure out where i was going to put the extra two speakers :)

Post 29

7.1 is a bit too much anyway don't you think? As long as your rears are good and loud it would be a similar effect...better off spending more on your reciever/amp.

anyway, put up some pics and stuff, sounds nice :)

Post 30

got the onkyo tx-sr605 receiver, full hdmi switching/decoding. mmm.

Post 31

Got mine on pre-order... w00t! wireless guitar! no more ripping cord outta the 360 for those 'jump off the lounge' moments :D

Post 32

Pre-ordered mine yesterday too, 7th november :(

god dammit im itching for this game, so many awesome songs i want to play. still undecided on wether to play it on hard and just finish it, or play it on expert for a bit of a challenge, but there are 70 songs :( so it'll take ages on hard then i will have to do them all again on expert...but no doubt in the world One will be the Freebird, so it'll be last. and i want to play it.

ahhh the dielma!

Post 35

yeah, thats gonna get alot of play time

Post 36

I might struggle through Expert first actually, save time.

**** me Tier 8 is good. 4 best songs on the game!

Post 37

The Guitar Hero 3 bundle will be $98 in Big W on the 10th of November. This is a one-day only sale and from the picture in the catalogue appears to be applicable to all console versions of the game, including the Wii.

Post 38

man i could pick up the stupid game today, but for some unexplainable reason THEIR BUNDLES HAVENT ARRIVED YET argh. i want wireless.

Post 39

Quote:
47. One (by Metallica)

MUST HAVE NOW!!!!!

you will see me at EB tomorrow thats a proven FACT!

Post 40

.. it's not proven until tomorrow ;P

Post 41

it better ****ing be there. or i will go postal.

Post 42

picked it up for xbox360 this morning. apparently there are issues with the ps3 version, otherwise i would have got that one.

apparently, stock only arrived this morning as well, i had to wait for them to unpack friggen boxes. ugh.

Post 43

What issues? incombatability or old guitars or something?

Post 44

GameSpy noted numerous technical issues with the PlayStation 3 version, noting controller issues ("...[the included USB dongle] functions on 2.4 Ghz wireless, rather than the console's built-in Bluetooth. You won't be able to use the PlayStation button to turn on your console; instead, you'll either use a Sixaxis or physically turn it on... Just like the Sixaxis, the Les Pauls will power down after a period of disuse") and the online matchmaking ("Online multiplayer for PS3 is fairly incompetent in presentation... As of the time we're reviewing this, the PS3 Quick Match option is completely broken.")[35]

(from wikipedia)

Post 45

meh, can work around that, nothing to important.

Post 46

It arrived and im stuck already.
2nd tier boss battle on hard :(

Mediums too ****en easy, i can get 3-4 stars on Hard, but the boss battle is ****en killing me. Turned it off out of frustration.

The guitar is way better than GH1+2.
The buttons are closer together and they're smoother to press.

Post 47

wuss, its a boss for a reason fag :P

Post 48

**** you you jobless **** for playing it already.

Post 49

Yeah but it's not a hard boss, its like an Ultra boss.
If i can pass the songs on Hard and get nowhere near the boss on the same setting, then I cant play the rest of hte music on Hard. Doesn't make sense :/

Quote from paladin;328521:
**** you you jobless **** for playing it already.

Jealous :p

Post 50

Quote from paladin;328521:
**** you you jobless **** for playing it already.

yeah i know i'm itching to play it.

Post 51

lenko is weaksauce. i just ripped tom morellos face off (first attempt) and five starred his encore (on hard)

Post 52

yeah, but he didn't play it much to be fair, didnt make the time to learn expert, so he is doing ok for hard :P

i wanna play it :(

Post 53

i just had a go at the first two tiers during lunch. obviously passed them :P 1 x 3 stars, couple of 5 and the rest 4 i think. loving the new guitar, so much better than the old.

Post 54

yeah, i heard the new hammer ons and pull offs are stupidly easy?

Post 55

they're a lot easier yes. although, i'm finding them harder to actually spot on the screen than they were.

Post 56

Dragonforce gave me Arthritis :(

Post 57

**** man, i can't even do through the fire and the flames on hard, let alone expert, that song is ****ing retarded.

man this game is so awesome, can't wait to get to all the good songs in the lower tiers :D

Post 58

finished up to the final tier, failed the first song on it and went to bed (first song i failed, sigh)

Post 59

its actually pretty hard on expert, mostly because our green button seems ****ed, it doesnt recognise me pushing it sometimes, and the boss battles have been pretty hard. slash was ****ing hard, after i beat him i went on to fail Welcome the jungle, ragequit and went to bed :P

seriously. awesome. game.

Post 60

tier 7 is horrible. crap music and annoying to play :P except the encore, that was cool.

Post 61

With all GH games the second last tier is always the hardest or most ****y, like Crossroads or Physcobilly freakout etc.

tired to do one twice, failed :( i keep using the ****ing star power too early because its so sensitive, i like to keep my guitar elevated but i cant anymore :/

Post 62

heh same. its used almost the instant i get it

Post 63

oh, tried Raining blood on expert.

lol. just lol.

Post 64

-

Post 65

finally beat that ****er lou on hard. stupid random crap.

Post 66

I wonder how long until everyone realises they are just playing DDR on a guitar instead of a dance mat.

Post 67

except without looking like as much of a retard.

Post 68

guitar hero >>>>>>>>>>>>> DDR

Post 69

who cares DDR and guitar hero are awesome :D

Post 70

yer half right.

Post 71

Looking like an idiot is one of the reasons WHY DDR is cool :p

Post 72

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/135987.html?playlist=featured

Post 73

Does anybody here have DDR metal mat besides me?

Post 74

Quote from Chycophy;330683:
Does anybody here have DDR metal mat besides me?

No but Im looking around for one if you have you'd like to recommend - I really like the arcade ones feel...not a big fan of the thing flat ones.

Post 75

you all hate ddr because you're all white boys :D

asian power!!!

Post 76

Quiet Im white and dont suck at it :p

Post 77

i hate DDR because the music is homosexual and it really doesnt look like you're actually dancing.

it looks like you're jumping up and down. which is stupid.

Playing an awesome song by metallica on a guitar that takes some serious practice (well the song one doesnt but anyway) does definately NOT equal jumping around like girls listening to HAPPYFUNPANDADANCE music.

But i give up on passing GH3 on expert. Raining blood and cliffs of dover are just too ****ing hard. like, stupidly difficult.

and forget ever passing the intro in Dragonforce.
