the worm has always swung against howard in every debate he has had when the worm has been present, against latham the worm was even more one sided than it was tonight yet the howard government won a landslide victory and took control of the senate. the worm represents a minority view and as usual the silent majority are not accurately represented and as such will not be noticed until they vote on election day.
i think a lot of people will be surprised by the election result however that in itself makes me shake my head because the last three elections the silent majority have surprised the media and the political watchers.
does the TAB run odds for the election?

I remember Howard's response to one of Rudd's comments about the economy and I swear that worm looked rigged... Howard was making quite good rebuttal and valid points about how Rudd fought over economic management of this country and the budgets and now turns around and agrees with it all come election time...
Rudd talks up a lot of figures and it all looks good on paper but then again so did Communism and that never worked... I still have yet to fully understand how he will manage the economy so effectively as to squeeze out that 47 Billion for FTTN which is something that needs to be solved rather short term...
I don't yet fully agree with keeping the same Government in power again but I also don't fully understand what the new kids have to offer...

The Worm always hates Howard because in a debate it's a measure of perception, and the way Howard seems compared to someone like Rudd or Latham or (even Beazley... just) is old, dull, arrogant and stale.
The reason the Worm has never translated to the polling booth is because as a measure of charisma and gravitas it's actually spot on, but that's not what people ultimately end up voting for.

To you the worm might have seemed rigged at one of those economy responses, however to me the economy card and arguments have been played over and over again. I'll give Howard that the govt has done a good job with the economy, but I refuse to believe all of what he claims is because of them. The time he's been in power it's has been a unique time of the world maturing, let alone the world markets.

This is reflected by the fact that for the first time since 1998 when Labor under Beazley clawed back a few seats from Howard after he came to power in 1996, the opposition is consistently leading the Government in the preferred Prime Minister polls and primary vote, not just the two party preferred figures.

Rudd's industrial relations plan has a lot in common with the policy-formerly-known-as-WorkChoices. But they're both a mess.
Meanwhile neither major party wants to face up to real reform. For example, the Tax Act is now 10 000 pages long. I'm standing as a candidate whose party would bring that down to around 100 pages, tops.

It's just the same as every other election, both parties will say anything to get the votes of the people, only difference is labor usually tell the biggest lies so they think they'll get most of the attention, but the simple fact is i can't see a goverment change being any good for this country, for instance, changing the workchoices back is ****ing rediculous and it would never happen. Any anyone with half a brain knows this.
And Kyoto is a ****ing joke. most people know that too.
