GotGames in association with CEVO is excited to announce the GGCEVO Team Fortress 2 Open Tournament. The Competition will be run using CEVO's anticheat application, CMN, and will be running during January and Febuary of 2008. The winning team of the competition will win $800 and an invite to the first season of the GGCEVO TF2 Professional Tournament.
Since this is a free tournament, you can signup and play without spending a single cent! The format of the tournament will be 8 v 8 using both ctf and cp maps. Registration will be open starting Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 until Sunday, January 13th with Round 1 matches beginning shortly after. We will be allowing an unlimited number of teams to register and play. Teams will play 2 games per week.
More detailed information on tournament structure, match format, and ingame rules will be released in the very near future.
As you've just read; it will be a requirement that you install and use CEVO's own anti-cheat application, which I'm sure to many of you seems strange and unesscesary... I guess we'll see what it's all about come January.
It's also interesting to find that it will follow GameArena's lead with the 8v8 structure, as opposed to the 6v6 seen in CEVO TF2 events in other parts of the globe.
