Well the main question people will be asking this year in tennis is can federer and Henin both gain a grand slam in the same year?

Well I'll skip all my 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th round tips and I'll lay down who I think should hit the quaters for the mens draw.

Top draw
The King Roger Federer Vs James Blake
Challenges:
Blakes Challenges will come from the big Croatian Ivan Ljubacic in 3rd round and if Fernando Gonzalez is on a rampage again he'll meet blake in 4th round.
Federer will have no challenge, he'll probibly win the open again without losing a set.

Novak Djokovic Vs David Nalbandian
Challenges:
Djokovic's challenges will come from Hewitt in 4th round, but I think Hewitt won't win but it will be a long match that will ware Djokovics fitness levels down a bit. And an outside chance will be Marcos Baghdatis, again in 4th round.
Nalbandian's challenge will be Juan Carlos Ferrero in 3rd round.

Bottom draw
Andy Murry Vs Nikolay Davydenko
Challenges:
Murry's challenges will be the up and coming frenchman Jo-wilfried Tsonga in 1st round and Richard Gasquet in 4th round, there evenly matched and there both the new young guns in the top 10.
Davydenko's should have no challenges.

Tommy Robredo Vs Rafael Nadal
Challenges:
Robredo's challenge will be Andy Roddick in 4th round. I don't think Andy will handle the slower hardcourt as well as the Spainard.
Nadal should have no challenges.

Hewitt Bagdadis Match is great. 2:15am now though, time for bed... Go Lleyton

Post 6

Hewitt looks like he has it almost wrapped up. So tired, but will wait for finish.

Post 7

Shit maybe not. 5-1, now 5-5 in the 4th set. Could go into the 5th at this rate.

Post 8

What kind of pro loses there serve twice in a row, hurry up and finish him off hewy

Post 9

Well thank god hewitt made it worth my while staying up, good match. I reckon his stuffed for his next match now.

Latest finishing game ever in an Australian Open (4:34am), second lastest ever start - it lasted just under 5 hours.

Have never seen a tennis match like it. F*cking epic.

i try really hard to watch a hi class game of tennis but it can never spark my enthusiasm towards the game. i think its one of the dullest sports around. i think the fact that its not a "team sport" really influences that.

Post 12

the federer game was 4.5 hours too. two epic games in one night :D

play a game of tennis craig, then watch it.

o i enjoy rallying a tennis ball across the court with a mate or 3 but the game itself dosnt excite me

Post 14

each to their own i guess, i find the mental struggle the players go through to deal with the pressure interesting

I disagree theres the Davis Cup - The Official Website of the Davis Cup from the ITF, but I know where your coming from.

just watch the doubles. ****ing great teamwork there. even more teamwork in the mixed.

I never liked watching cricket until about 5 years ago. now i love sitting down and watching it. Still never been to a match tho, but i hardly go to the tennis aswell.

as for my tips

Bottom Draw. Semi Final Tips.
Jo-wilfried Tsonga Vs. Mikhail Youzhny
Well I knew Tosonga would be a challenge for Andy Murry and I rekon hes got the goods to beat Mikhail.

Jarrko Niemimem Vs. Rafael Nadal
Well I can see Nadal losing. But I didn't pick Philipp Kohlschreiber to beat Andy Roddick, specially when Andy had a 5-0 record over Philipp going into the match, on hardcourt aswell. And then after all that Nieminem was well rested going into the match, having only really been pushed in first round. As for my original tip Mardy Fish proved he can still beat the shite outter clay courters and beat roberto in straight sets.

Notes on the top draw.
Federer played ****ing shite in 3rd round. and now hes gotta play the 13th seed. He wont win with his last match performance. But he was only missing most shots by 1-5cm, so he should be fine going into tonights match.
As for David Nalbandian I picked his challenge, but i didnt think the old clay court vet (Juan Carlos Ferrero) would have the goods to beat one of the few players to have beaten federer.

Yep, a couple of great ones there.
I enjoyed what I saw of both matches - and I'm far from a hard core tennis fan.
