BoM - NT NorthWest Top End Catchments Rainfall and River Height Information

any-how I'll be your weather person right now and say there are cars under water on the way in to the city from casuarina,
going on dickward drive seems to be the safest bet but a 4x4 is advised if your driving anything smaller then a suburu 4x4 then dont bother i only just made it in a corolla help a few people get there cars up off the road as they had drowned there engine.
all through nightcliff is pretty bad up to my knees in some parts going to coconut grove "caution is the key".

anyhow i feal sorry for those out there still. hope they get to there destination.

wwwooooooooooooottttttttt
went to town last night and **** it was fun trying to get home :D
i went down back streets and everywhere... basically.. this is what was SERIOUSLY flooded
bagot rd just after the over pass
stuart highway (BP Winnellie was ABSOLUTELY FLOODED)
most of parap was knee deep
going to parap onto dickward... was seriously flooded (the road where the pool is) ... i had a land cruiser infront of me pathing the water out (i was in a commodore) and i was revvvvv'n the car at about 5000rpm with water either side of me to keep moving :-)

once i got onto dickward drive... nightcliff was flooded, turned around and most of the industrial area in bagot was also flooded.

turned and tried my luck down a side ally onto bagot rd again. went down mcmillians .... well.... mcmillians.... think again.. that was the worst... shit loads of floods that way (espically at the low point)

tried to get through to rapid creek road... hahahahaa - saw some 4wd stuck there aswell.. turned around.. went back onto mcmillians down the next st where the school is onto bagot rd again.... got through there, went all the way to cas then turned off at csc lights to lee point....

went through lee point, got home there and and finally got home to northlakes...

sensational night driving i thought... there was truck loads of people who were bogged or stopped on the side of the road for the rain. i would have helped pull them out if i had a larger car, but mine would have been bogged aswell if i stopped.

very very good night :-)

Heh. Had both mine and the bf's 'rents call this morning to say they couldn't use their computers (Moil and Alawa areas). Both had surge protectors. We only just woke up and they want us to go fix it. Good luck with that I say.

Report that was on ABC news tonight. Shows some abandoned cars.
Darwin cleans up after record rains - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

I was home so didnt realise any of this happened. I thought there was only bad lightning (phone would sometimes ring as the lightning struck heh).

I didnt see that on the abc news coz I was watching ch9 news, thier shit was ****ed from a lightning strike:D. The news anchor was totally green, looked like the incredible hulk lol :D

Here I was wondering whether it was in our heads or if we actually drove down a flooded bagot road. Seriously need to drink less. Was nearly going to swim home.
