this made me laugh, not so much the heading itself but the fact that the NT news has just realised.

PALMERSTON is the single mother capital of Australia.

Myself and friends have referred to it as that for years.

There has always been nothing to do in Palmerston, except single mothers.

i see what they did there. i dont see palmerston as real you see.

i wish they would have done a list of the ages of the those mothers. that would have been interesting.

the correct interpretation being that she's never been any other kind of mum. i.e: she probably doesn't know who the father is.
