First ever street race held in Singapore at night

Is this not some of the best cg you've ever seen, or have I just lived a sheltered life?

Oh yeah, this is the one! :D

im actually excited to see how this race will play out..Def going to watch it..

Post 4

Video was not the best. I'd prefer to get a first person view of the lap not this fly around crap. Plus, as if Vettel can spin and still catch Webber!!
(How funny is it that those two drivers are paired against each other for the video anyway!)

This street race is an obvious highlight for the F1 calender and one I have been eagerly awaiting unlike that shockingly bad "street" track for the European GP. (Having said that the highlights video on F1.com is pretty cool)

Post 5

Yes looking forward to this one also, very keen to see how it turns out as a venue at night.

sucked in Hamilton.......... learn to press the breaks around corners so you dont get a penalty...... sucker

sucker!! Loser in the race & loser in the Appeal!

Post 7

What appeal... they never got in the door. What bullshit that drive through penalties cannot be appealed.

Post 8

ITV F1 Player , its amazing

Post 10

x2, I love the look of the lights shinging on the cars.

Hamiltons camera view gave me a woody!

Post 11

Looks bloody unreal, about time is all I can really say.

So very bumpy :P

Post 12

It just seems so right, F1 was made for the night. As for Webber, that is shocking driving.

Wow amazing save by Vettel, got talent?

Post 13

Wow. F*cking wow is all I can say. Definately watching second practice session.

This is something I will definately be going to in 2009 or 2010. Or maybe this year if I get drunk enough and book flights tonight. :P

Post 14

Flights still available from Adelaide to Singapore before Sunday night, but the F1 tickets are sold out for every possible standing and seating area for all 3 days...

Oh well, 2009 it is. :P

I agree with the stewards on this one.

Post 17

Yep so do I. You just can't do that.

Post 18

I disagree, he spun and ended up sideways facing the pits right on the race line. If I were him I would have done the same thing. Its the quickest way to get off the track.

Its only "0,000 anyway. I wonder if your allowed to appeal this, depends which car your in I suppose so given its not a McClaren driven by a brit it must be ok. ;)

Post 19

The point is he drove backwards - he actually drove the opposite way around the track for a tiny distance... simply not on, under any circumstance, or any distance.

If he got hit up the arse by another car, that's one thing. If however he had a head-on-collision with another car, someone was getting decapitated. ;)

He could have put the foot down and swung the car straight around and continued in the correct direction.

Fox Sports video report up: Alonso wins first night GP - Motor Sports - Fox Sports

Pretty good race, I thought. The spectacle of the night environment and Singapore city backdrop is just awesome.

Post 21

I watched this last night, 11:30pm start.. nice channel 10..

Was the best race of the season in my opinion. Good tough racing, a few crashes, entertaining pit stops, some lucky pit strategies too and some not so. A good bumpy circuit and at night in a beautiful city, really lives up to what a street circuit should be. Just had a bit of everything.

Have to admit I am a bit of an Alonso fan so it was nice to see him get up and win a race (seems he's getting some good pace out of that Renault again), bad luck to Masa (but lol at that pitstop, good to hear no serious injuries), but I have to be honest and say id like to see Hamilton win a championship after last year.

On 10 HD it started at 9:50pm, and had 40 minutes of pre-race coverage.

Yeah don't have 10 HD down here, goes through TDT unfortunately, sports isnt their strong point which is a shame! Ah well.
