Can somebody come over and help me install my water cooling system?

Haven't dealt with the stuff so far. It's a external system I presume but there may be room in my case for it... it's for the CPU & GPU (that's all). I need someone professional or at least decent to come over and watch me/help me install it just so I wipe out all of the chance of destroying my extremely expensive parts.
It's a fairly easy installation - LGA775 (Quad) and a 8800 Ultra OC'd Edition... and my case is a Uber Chakra. I plan to overclock to 4GHz or more depending on temperature.
It's preferable that you've dealt with water cooling before.

Just PM me if you're willing come help/supervise.

I can help, but no can do tonight... You want it done before the LAN, or at the LAN is okay?

If it arrives before the LAN yes at the LAN, but if it arrives after wards I'll stick with the standard heat sink for now and we'll keep in touch until it does arrive - so stick to your hard working days until then. ;D

LMAO @ Sexy time

Ha ha... ^O^

I actually have martial arts training at roughly 5:00PM so if the stuff arrives before DGA and I can organize locked storage of my sh!t, we shall make an event of it. I'm going to giggle when I hear everyone's "ooh, ahh, aww..." when the OCing begins. ;D

What Batch# and VID is your chip? (assuming Q6600)

Chances are I'll swap out the Q6600 w/ a Q6700 if I can be bothered. I'll bring both though just to be sure. As for the batch # I can't tell you as I'm at work right now but I'll edit this post.

If you are going to do that, you may has well get an E0 Q9550, overclocks better. I have mine running 48 Hour Prime95 Stable/Intel Burn in 20 pass stable at 4.0Ghz 471x8.5

That's if his mobo supports the newer CPU's.

Yes it does support 45nm CPU's... I'm not buying a Q6700, I'm just swapping it over because I have both a Q6600 and Q6700. If I had the money I'd buy a Q9550 but I guess that'll have to wait. Q9550's are awesome!

It's all good. Wasn't sure. ^_~

If the Q6700 is a G0 core use that, if not then use the Q6600 unless the Q6600 is a B3 Core as well.

I think it arrived today, not sure if someone picked it up for me... so will wait and see until tonight. I have a G0 Q6700 and will be bringing that to DGA. If you need any specific tools bring them!! I don't know what I need besides the water cooling kit, my computer and my CPU's. =P

I'm considering fitting my third 8800gtx to my system too, so I'll bring distilled water... Short of that, a bucket, screw drivers (though I'll have them too) anything you think you might need.

Post 17

Well if you have decent watercooling gear you'll be right.. set mine up a good 3 years ago now and while I dont have it in a running system anymore ive still got the loop (with water in it.. ugh) sitting around here somewhere and hasnt leaked a drop :) Though the water did get changed a couple of times..

I always found it best to just setup the loop first, and let it run for a few hours to make sure it had no leaks, then put it into the system. Also mind you I didnt do this in Darwin, but I cant imagine itd make any difference..

Ugh! Unfortunately my water cooling didn't arrive. I'm completely un-compelled to go to the DGA meeting tomorrow... -cry-
Oh well. I suppose I'll relax before my training. Thanks anyway Kagetsu, you're awesome.

Definitely.

So after installing the third card in my system... and returning it home... My UPS no longer has the juice to power it under load.

Post 23

If anybody is up to it still... my liquid cooling kit just arrived. Would do it myself but don't want to risk a single thing.
