Had some time today so thought I'd add a new mod that I'd heard quite a bit about called vbExperience.
You will see some new info (bar graphs/etc) under peoples names or when you click on their name in the postbit area. A summary page is available below:
Gamers Underground - Ranking
What is it?

vBExperience is an advanced Level and Activity System with Shop and Awards. It will calculate an activity and experience score for every user based on their activites on the forum. Now your users will see how their level is increasing by participating on your forum.
This mod was developed by me because I was never satisfied with the post count. Communities are not only defined by post count, they need much more parameters: Are the postings the user creates helpful? Are his threads frequently read? Does the user participate on the community by posting pictures, attachments, leaving visitor messages, tagging threads? All this can be answered with this mod. ... There are mainly four things visible for the users: The users score, his level, his next level up in %/points and his activity in %.
Calculation of the score Taken into calculation are these things: Threads - Created threads - Thread views of own threads - Thread replies of own threads - Thread votes of own threads - Thread tags (vBulletin 3.7) - Replies to own threads - Sticky threads
Posts - Created posts - Views on attachments
User - Days since registration - Referrals - Received infractions - Reputation / Use of reputation system - Visitor messages on profiles (vBulletin 3.7) - Members of own social groups (vBulletin 3.7) - Albumpictures (vBulletin 3.7) - Friends (vBulletin 3.7)
Misc Additionally there is support for 3rd party addons: - Post Thank You / Use of Post Thank You - thanks via vS-Hide Hack Resurrection (Expanded Edition) - LDM Links and Downloads Manager - DownloadsII - PhotoPost Gallery - vBulletin Blog - Who Downloaded This Attachment? - Cyb Paypal Donate - AWCoding-Donation System LITE and PRO (via addon) - ibProArcade Highscorer Points (via addon) - v3arcade Highscorer Points (via addon) - PhotoPlog 2.1 (via addon) - QuoteIt! 3.16 (via addon)
Additionally you can install these modifications: - Thread Necromancer: Gives (minus-) points when a user is posting in old threads. Contains also Thread Necromancer Award. - Scrupulous Poster: Gives points for editing posts. Award users that are editing own posts instead of doing double post. - Deletion Addicted: Gives points when an user/nod soft-deletes post, thread, visitormessage, groupmessage or picturecomment.
I'll be playing around and tweaking with it so any suggestions let me know.
hmmm... i can see now that i really don't contribute much to the GU goodness (I abuse GU... I feed upon your GU'dness, yet seem to refuse to contribute in return)... time for me to start adding random stat padding comments....
Quote from insidious;355571: your definately not the only one who hates it, it will turn into a big spam and banter fest like gotgames did when they bought in the rep system
It's simple - anyone who spams I add to the "Ignore User" part of the config - problem solved. Let's not look upon new things as negative unless they actually become that way.

We've always encouraged attaching rather than linking anyway - it means the images are here to stay forever, even if they're removed from the original source.
It also means people have to be registered to view it, which means they accept the forum's terms and conditons. Ie; an unregistered stranger can't stumble across something potentially offensive or otherwise "illicit" without entering into an agreement regarding the use of the website.
I'm sure if a lot of you attached instead of using img and media tags to embed them you'd have a heap of points from it too.
