Alrighty problem is:

During games at random times no display turns up on my monitor, now i know its not the video card or the monitor as it happened with my old video card and my old monitor with both combinations, I googled it a fair bit to get a plethora of uninformed answers and come to the conlusion that is most likely the PSU but never told what the problem is (at a guess wattage) I'm just hopping that there may be another reason as I just bought the monitor and gfx card, and a lil short on cash. anyone able to help ?

my radeon 9600 would sometimes turn off the monitor due to the card overheating. Maybe try monitor the temp on your GFX card?

Catalys control center says its at 67C, cooler with the side of the case off.

500w PSU BTW

PSU seems large enough, borrow someones PSU then and see if its the prob.

Find out how many amps your vid card need then check to see if your power supply model supports that amount on the 12v
