Cop car...

Just saw a cop car having a lye on its side, just past CSC heading towards Casuarina, on Trower road. Any one else see it? Any one know what happened?

was responding to a call (another accident?), looks like it got a bit sideways and tipped over the curb.

but nobody worry! anyone behind the wheel of a police car is highly trained and prepared for darwin's slippery conditions.

From the looks of those pics, push it back onto the wheels, drive it to the panel beaters, doesn't look too smashed up to me.

My guess is that he turned right from Parer Drive, clipped the curb then overcorrected.

Also,

Should be thankful the officer/s weren't hurt in the incident or no one else was injured. They are performing a service to your community and people hang shit on them. You need to remember if there aren't enough coppers out on the street or they aren't focusing on a specific problem, it's not the guys on the beat, its the ****ing minister's and upper management (commissioner) direction.

so you claim youve never seen a copper stopped at a red light turn on the sirens go through only to turn them off 100 metres down the road?

I don't most of them would have much luck looking after themselves though. Not much luck at all.

I have found that most NT cops seem to come across as pricks though. Being a night owl I've seen a lot of shit that has indicated this... Then again, there are a few that have come across as really balanced and fair.

I suppose this is a whole new discussion. People DO need to understand that the coppers are there to protect and help. You'll find that a vast majority of the time, cops are being pricks TO pricks. lol...

o yeha, there entitled to make a mistake in their jobs, i do in mine.
we can still have a giggle though as noone was seriously hurt.

How about the fact there are no cars that need to gtf out of the way 100 metres up the road. Sirens are to indicate that there's an emergency vehicle coming through... very important when you're going through red lights at intersections. Just because they turn them off up the road, doesn't mean there's not an emergency. Use your brain.

i have met many police ppl over the years - most due to being a d1ckhead occasionally.
A few of them were nice blokes who deserve the respect they did and should get for doing a job most people wont or cant do.
Most of them were asshats - no ifs or buts about it, and that attitude was no way induced by my demeanor at the time.
Some might just be pricks in general, but others after dealing with retards,drunks and idiots over and over and over may just end up being pricks due to what they see as a lack of respect by people of themselves and for authority.

If they can get away with using their lights to go through a red light, im only jealous cause i dont have red a blue flashing lights on my car to do the same

my theory is: they need the practice, and common plebs on the road need to be reminded to get the **** out of the way occasionally - let em have their lights and sirens whenever :)

Yeah the number of idiots who don't yield to emergency/police vehicles is astounding.

Down here in vic everyone gets out of the way really well. Many times I see an emergency vehicle coming down the road and everyone mounts the curb and clears a straight path long before it gets there.

Edit: This is in Geelong, Melbourne might be a bit different.
