Due to a combo of my wife and child destroying my mx700 wireless mouse i ventured into Cas to get a new setup.
I purchased an Logitech Wave Cordless set (rrp "99 or 177 for a jb price) has both a Wave Keyboard and a LX8 mouse.
This is where the fun starts.
It all has to be on the same level as the reciever or above - not below it at all ever.- ie if using my mouse on the floor the reciever has to be on the floor too or its just a paper weight, ie. nothing works - NOTHING, no mouse action, no keyboard key press fuggin didli !!!!
I could have had rather elevated expectations but with a 2yr old that likes to play with everything ( ive learnt not to leave anything in arms reach) i was hoping to leave the reciever out of her range ontop of the pc case. ( about 3 ft above the floor and a total of 7ft from the couch.)
Ive got the latest drivers for it, firmware updates for the reciever, Winxp sp2 and am pretty fracking unimpressed:mad: For a setup with a rrp of $200 i should be able to put the reciever almost anygoddamwhere and have it work imo.
Sounds broken, give it back and get a new one. I have a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse both on different logitech receivers (bought them separately). They don't need to be at the same height as the receiver to work.

Moved mouse and reciever to pc room to some benefit.
At 4ft of elevation ( max) it will not work beyond 4-5 feet from the controller. But this means that it may be either the Speaker next to the pc ( part of the surround setup), or the sub on the floor or the Plasma causing interference... still annoyed.
Looks like i have to leave the reciever on the floor in front of the tv cabinet when i want to use the pc
Uniden cordless phone system would be the only thing in that group, but the main point is in the pc room with me and the other recievers are far enough away ( 1 on the other side of the room and 1 at the other end of the house) so they shouldnt be an issue.
I dont have a setup for wireless streaming and wont use wireless in general - concrete walls at 15 degress point to point kill that idea.
