Should be out in March... anybody interested?

Post 2

Could be a blast... but what's the best it turns out to be absolute rubbish.

Post 3

looks like it has a worse physics model than Warhammer Age of Whatsit

Post 4

i found this to be exceptionally fun instead :D

Post 5

Yeh been keeping an eye on this. Havent played a game like that in ages. Keen for a game when it comes out.

Post 6

Apart from no obvious ammo constraints, g forces, or tactical value, looks great ;)

Post 7

downloading it for xbox now

Post 8

Im looking forward to this. Been dying for a decent flight sim lately and though this has it's non sim related aspects of it, still looking forward to it :P

Post 9

Played the demo last night. Deleted.

Post 10

I( think it rocks should be great multiplayer

I havent had a good Flight Sim since i played Descent 3 Mod and freespace 2

Post 11

well i wouldnt call it a decent flight sim by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a bit of fun on the PC. nothing like a plane with 160 missiles.

Post 12

Blazing Angels II: Secret Missions was ****ing fantastic.
This game reminds me alot of afterburner, the arcade classic.

Post 13

actually yeah, that's why i enjoyed it! afterburner ftw!

Post 20

verrry nice!!

Post 21

Played the demo tonight...I'm in love.

Post 22

Just played the Demo.
It's a ****ing abortion of a game; that is not worthy of the Tom Clancy name.

Post 23

it's an arcade game, not a simulator, once you get into that mindset it's enjoyable :) even the spastic camera mode when you switch off your realism-engine-thingy-whatever-whatsit. I spent ages with that feature just doing circle work in amongst the buildings =)

Post 24

I havent played the demo yet but ill give it a try tonight

Nah see; planes should never do 180 degree airbrake doughies :P

Tom Clancy is sinonymous with strategic play and a fair whack of realism.
I dont understand what's 'Tom' about this game; other than using the name to sell it.

Post 26

They are using his name as a marketing ploy to sell it milenko :P

Post 27

Those corporate bastards.

Post 28

and at least they put the screeching tyres sound effect in when you do have the urge for doughies

I beg to differ. ^_~ Some of the new fighter aircraft have vectored thrust... Enabling some incredible high G manouvres.

Not saying the game is realistic, (haven't played it yet) but so long as it doesn't fly like that crappy Atari game I shouldn't have bought, then it'll be okay.

Post 30

THRUST VECTORING OWNZ THE SKIES!!1!!!!!11! ;)

Not enjoying it (demo) as much as I thought. Still wanna try some multiplayer next LAN though.

Post 31

The PC one is a bit iffy, specially with mouse and keyboard, plus the targetting is annoying when your trying to take out the planes before the ground targets.

Though still looking forward to this game as it was fun playing the demo.

Thats actually very similar to what you can do in game.
Im a little shocked to be honest.

Post 33

The technology has been arround for a while, however, actually employing it in a useable platform... As far as I'm aware, the Euro fighter and the Russian SU's are pretty much the only aircraft that make significant use of it. ^_~

Post 34

that's because american pilots would get out and look for someone to sue for whiplash ;)

Post 35

In mother Russia, whiplash sues you!

Post 36

anyone else getting this tomorrow?

Post 37

only if i have unprotected sex with a hooker tomorrow

Already quite amazing what can be pulled off without vectored thrust.

F16 9g turns look bloody painful when you see them in person.

There's also the super hornet, particularly when you chuck in one awesome test pilot. [Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqnu5hK_JdM].

Didn't like HAWX too much. Although if it gets other people playing a flight 'sim', then it's worth it for the multiplayer. Not much point playing a game when most of the players can't even stay in the air. :p

It's not even a sim it feels alot like Ace Combat.

Post 41

Pre-loaded baby. ^_^

Post 42

niice :D

DAmn bandwidth limit stopping me from getting it over steam.

Preordered it

Post 44

Are you guys serious? I can't believe so many people are buying this POS game.

I'm only speaking of my experience with the demo, but it was shit-house. I have't played a fun flight combat title since Ace Combat 3 on the Dreamcast. :P

Feel free to recommend some (no, not HAWX).

it depends on the user, seriously i have personally been waiting for an areal shooter for some time.

and not a sim where it could take 10 min just to get off the landing strip, i mean your in the air, you have a target... and you destroy it asap, i just hope it has multilayer capabilities because this type of gameplay is perfect for areal battle royals.

either way +1 to buying the game :D

Post 46

Maybe that warm english beer is clouding your judgement. :p
It wasn't perfect, but it's a fast paced game that will work even better in a LAN environment... That's the only reason I'm buying it.

So long as I can play with the SU47 (which is fortunately in the game) then I'll be okay.

Post 47

I make a point of not drinking English beer. They're almost always bad. :P

Post 48

the game has co-op, that's enough for me - to wait for it to be on sale on Steam.

but yeah, as mentioned, it's only a bad game if you want MS Flight Sim XXIV. Though their default joystick mappings for the rudder controls were stupid. Beyond that, highspeed fun. It's quake in the air.

Post 49

The Xbox 360 controll works out of the box supprisingly. Very easy with the auto align up function. But put the game into hard mode then you start to run out of bullets if you miss. Try using the cannon some times...

Post 50

Well, it looks like I'm not the only one with issues... It's been refered to as the Dead Zone issue. (All over Steam). I also noticed last night that I'd been playing the DX9 version all along and the DX10 version doesn't work (though apprently a NEW steam update happened this morning which apparently resolves that issue).

Post 51

Co-op is awesome :D
360 pad does a good job. Like looking around the cockpit with the 2nd stick.

Post 52

i know it kicks a#@ i just installed it on windows 7 and it runs better in directX 10.1 with Beta nvidia drivers

Post 53

sorry but all I heard was blah blah. Got a twitter account yet?

Post 54

i wasn't aware that the gtx285 had directx 10.1 support.

Post 55

There's no major leaps with DX10.1 over DX10 in any case... From what I can tell, it's only making a few controls in it mandatory over option in the case of DX10. (Some may recall DX6 vs DX6.1)

Well the DX10 version works for me in any case, an update was released the day before the LAN for HAWX to allow it to... That said, the game still gives me the shits a little... Maybe Flight Sim X (which has network support ie, LAN) could be used in future... ^_~

Post 56

I tried playing the demo but it just crashed my sh!t...

Weird.

*shrugs

Post 57

again... your Belkin? =)

Post 58

i just benched HAWX with Fraps on Windows 7 64bit its gone up by about 19FPS at maxed Nvidia Drivers 181.71 Beta WDDM 1.1
Well all my games now run faster and i can run some older ones i couldn't on vista.
