lalalala, humans, refugees, lalalala, refugees move, people get annoyed, lalala, ZOMGWTFBBQ aliens!

well didn't see that one coming in the trailer :P

Post 3

i saw the trailer the other day... i worry it might be like the day the earth stood still. Still if anyone can do it PJ probably can!!!

Post 4

Its Peter Jackson presents..... he's not the director.

Post 5

Post 6

Looks great - can't wait for this one!

Looks nothing like Day The Earth Stood Still... unless by 'looks like' you mean has aliens in it - that to me seems like where any striking resemblance stops.

Post 7

I have doubts over this.

Post 8

ahhhhhhhh i THOUGHT it looked familiar. District 9 is based on this short film: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNReejO7Zu8"]YouTube - Alive in Joberg by Neill Blomkamp Spyfilms (Halo director)[/ame]

Post 9

I reckon it would have been better to have kept it art-house/mockumentary, rather than go down the Hollywood action route it seems to be headed with the Peter Jackson presented cinematic release.

Time will tell. Definately seeing this at the cinema regardless.

Post 10

I think Neil Blomkamp is still the director, and the trailers certainly show it as being mockumentary styled still

Post 11

looks cool

Post 12

I'm off to the cinema to see it tonight at 6:30.

I'll let you guys know what I thought once out.

Post 13

Cant wait to hear back, been tossing up whether to go watch it or not.

Post 14

It has a 96% score at Rotten Tomatoes. I know Paladin doesn't believe in review scores, but it is an average of scores. So seemingly, a lot of people love it. I think that's reason enough to go if you're a sci-fi fan.

Post 15

i believe in review scores insofar as an indication of what other people thought of the movie. i dont believe in basing my own decision to see a movie on them. critics are another matter and i genuinely believe they are a waste of air.

Post 16

Just because they get paid for their critisism doesn't mean it's any more or less vaid than yours or mine.

If lots of people say something is good, I'll usually give it a shot. This is no exception.

Post 17

exactly. there is no more or less validity to it so why the **** pay them for it? not sure why i capitalised a word that's just going to be profanity filtered out anyway but there you go.

Post 18

I don't have an answer to your question. :)

Post 19

Hi,

Watch me.

Sincere regards,
District 9

lol

Post 21

Itsss oooookkkkaaaaayyyyy..... Kind of way....

Actually other than the huge plot holes in the movie and that the main character comes out to be a dick that I wished he would die every time he spoke.

Highly recommend, save your money and buy this when it comes out on DVD. Nothing special to see here.

Personal opinion it was shit.

Post 22

if i was to ever give a shit about someone elses opinion. it wouldn't be yours.

Post 23

AHAHHAHAH omg how did I know you would say that! hahaahah

Post 24

you're aware that you're batshit in the head?

Post 25

I generally listen to what Chad, Cockaroche and Korny have to say... and then go the opposite way. Hasn't failed me yet. ;)

Post 26

Keep going paladin! LOL. Nothing like interweb insults to pad your ego LOL.

Post 27

i saw it last nite and i enjoyed it... there was some loose threads dangling what not but all in all you could go to the movies with out knowing shit about the movie and enjoy it. Head popping FTW!

Post 28

saw it last night, and really its not a bad movie.

i would recommend like all movies a decent screen at home and some good sound will do it justice. it was different in presentation too with it like a doco recap.

Post 29

Ahh Opinions; The one thing that's truly yours that nobody wants...

Will see this sometime this week i recon.

Post 30

Fantastc movie, loved it. Great story combining a mix of modern and scifi elements (huge ship hovering in the background really hammered it home)
Last 5 min the sound started going at the Cas cinema, complained and got a free ticket. :D

Post 31
