Particularly the VX2433WM ViewSonic - Products - VX2433wm

I love my Viewsonic 28, and the 20 incher before it.
I'll buy Viewsonic again for sure.

I used to have a viewsonic at work... the display was washed out and fuzzy. Worst LCD i've ever used.
Never been a fan of benq displays either... the ones i've used looked cheap.
I've always had very good experiences with Samsung displays and I hear a lot of good things about Dell.
In saying all of that, I haven't seen either of the panels you're looking at.
I would be very careful purchasing a screen based on internet reviews, its always best to see it for yourself.

I have a Veiwsonic VX1935vm 19" on a spare PC, it's the best screen in the house as far picture quality goes. I'd buy another one.

I'd recommend the Dell monitors (I have a 2408WFP and a 2408WFP). They're fantastic! Although a little pricey.
Go Samsung... they'd be my number 2 choice.

Not meaning to hijack a threat but...
I've been giving serious thought to buying a 2408WFP. Do you play games? Have you had any problems with lag/ghosting? I'm pretty sure I want one I'm just a little concerned based on a few reviews I've read...

Yeah I game big time. Unfortunately the 2408 is running portrait and I'm still using the 2407 to as my main landscape screen so I can't comment on ghosting/lag in games for the 08.
Having said that I'm going to a LAN tomorrow and taking the 2408, so I'll report back when I have an answer.
I have never had ghosting problems with the 2407... and although it's more vibrant and sharper than my old Trinitron CRT, it just ain't the same.

thanks for all the suggestions. Price is a big factor in this monitor. atm the samsungs are a little pricey for me. I usually only buy samsung.

I have been using the BenQ for a few months now and never had a problem. It was a bit pricy $420 but i needed a replacement monitor and picked it up at Austins just up the road.
thumbs up here Steve.

Have the dell 24inch ultra sharp. Sells for about $800 I think. Though it is pricey but if it died tomorrow I would be ordering the exact same monitor but this time two of them.
Tried the BenQ monitors and they're absolutely shit brand. Had a look on what was on offer with all other monitor brands and until OLED come out, the ultra sharp was the best out of the best avaliable at the time.
I have no regrets buying it and highly recommend the monitor for gaming and desktop work.

been very happy with my pair of LG 22" monitors so I would give there offering a look is you are after something at the cheeper end of the scale.

Samsung 245t here
Awesome colour and contrast and viewing angle, a little slow on the input lag and refresh speed in high speed scenes

Played using the 2408 today. Seemed good to me!

I got a Samsung 22" but I would buy one of those Dell 24s if I had the cash.
