maybe thats the case here. but not in europe. Most of the world wide gaming events still have CS. can make some serious cash playing for some of the big clans.

Post 7

CS has finally died in Australia... only gimmick servers remain popular (WC3, GG, Zombie etc).

But as Heretic said, the rest of the world (esspecially Europe) still place more emphasis on it than any other game for competition - even an Asian-centric event (the World Cyber Games) is still using CS.

Besides, check the stats; Online Gaming Zeitgeist All Games (and that giant spike-drop is just a reporting error only effecting Steam platform games).

Post 8

Holy shit Quake 3 still registers? :P

Post 9

Competitive gaming in the European and Asian countries is like a culture or sport they take serious.
Its like how Australians like their AFL, Rugby and Cricket

more than 700 spectators for the GGP game last night, what game in au would get more than that?

Post 11

its a basic game that everyone can run, its easy to form a clan, and the tactics revolve around quick teamwork and plays. Until a new game can match that or build upon it I can't see it dying out.

Counter-Strike: Source?

Post 13

Post 14

Well then you've just agreed with me, fool. :)

CS is dead here, not CSS.

pretty sure north clare vs. south clare in the north eastern football league would get more spectators than that.

point well made...............................

Post 17

Well cs 1.6 is more competitive coz of the rego and aim required coz u die faster. In css its a bit random with the rego and bullet deviation.

Post 18

That's one of many, many reasons why CS is still a better game for competition. But Australian's are just too far over it.

Post 19

I loaded cs last night for the first time in ages. It was an accident just clicking on the server list.

It was horrible and I had to quit straight away and join a css server.

The engine is old and yes I'm over it.

But is css now getting too old? There's only so much getting stuck on a barrel one can take in a lifetime.

Post 20

wahnpointsix and CZ make me spew a litlle

CSS is far from perfect but i havnt found anything to replace it, at high res it is pretty enough and it can be wound down to run well on older machines, it is not complicated, suits different gaming styles & still has servers with people on it........ there is no where near enough mum jokes in source these days, but there is not too many things i enjoy more in gaming these days than shooting unseens head off then running in for the T-Bag before defusing the bomb

Post 21

I thought t-bagging was reserved for console tards? Thanks for bringing us down, Insid. :P

Post 22

The -=SB=- crew were renowned for t-bagging.
Granted, it was usually to each other, but still.

Frenzy: Haha Lenko got 'naded.
Coco: *Tea-bags*
Lenko: :(

Post 23

I rarely see Teabags in Css.
