Yeah, without fail I get bored within 10 minutes of watching these Disney cartoons and find myself sitting there for the next 20 minutes wishing it was a Pixar film. Then I usually turn it off...

Dreamworks != Disney.
Pixar belongs to Disney.
In fact there was something like a "reverse takeover". Disney bought Pixar, but Pixar people wound up in charge of Disney, Steve Jobs in particular.
One odd consequence: Disney shut down their traditional animation studio because they decided 3D animation was the future. Now that Pixar people have come across, traditional animation is being restored. There's room for both in the market, as the Japanese have amply demonstrated.
