The GU Legion and You.

As per the Aion thread, I've volunteered to lead and get this Legion up and running. It's not something I mind doing (kinda enjoyed it back in WoW); but it's a bit of work from time to time and most importantly I need feedback.

Where and When?
Legions are formed at the Capitol cities of each faction at a specific NPC. Players generally do not hit these areas until at least level 10. Therefore it is more than likely that we will be manually whispering each other until that point in time. Don't frett though, the game has a friends list =)

The Cost
Simply put, we need money. Estimates at present are 12,500 Kina (gold) to create a Legion. That may seem like alot of money; but I really don't think it will be (we had a couple hundred Kina at level 3-4 in beta). This is open to change though.

Basically, so that its a bit fairer on myself; I' appreciate donations when the game goes live, to get us up and running.

This Legion needs a name.
I'd like to see some input from you guys as to what you think sounds catchy etc.

My suggestion is 'Underground'. I think it fits well with both GU and the fact Asmodians are the down-cast, the underdwellers etc.

We will get a few suggestions in then take it to a vote.

But do you know what the best part of this tattoo is? The whole thing, the dog, the snake, the bald eagle? Well, they're all *on fire*.

shit my last guild was called fingerpuppet mafia. simply because it sounded cool.

Underground isn't available due to it being 1 character over the maximum.
Unless this is changed before retail (unlikely); is everyone ok with just 'GU' ?

how about clandestin without the E, for a guild name (quick thesaurus check up :D )

clandestine was the name of a CS clan we made with the GU superstars back in the day.

I like GeeYoo, im all for it, even though everytime i look at it think goo.

GeeYoo is gay, but at the end of the day the guild name isn't *that* important as long as there's some relevance. Which it obiously does, so if that's our best option let's just do that.

But on that note, I'd prefer Guild, GUild or even GU-ild - some version of that.

so we'll need to power to 10 and put our cash together for a legion name.

oh arent they doing a headstart for preorder players for this game? i know champions has an extra day for preorder customers

oh yeah headstart is a good point, not entirely sure, but i think i heard something about it. so i think almost all legion names should be available. leveling to 10 will take me and lenko a matter of hours by the time we finish all the betas.

How much is it for the legion name?

130,000 for level 2 - 30 members.

Mind you, those numbers have been adjusted several times already.
We may need a level 2 as soon as we can (depending on how many ppl actually make it to retail) - but with 10 members; by level 20 we should have more than enough money.

We all pre-ordered via STEAM, we don't get the phsyical items :p

Stat ring and black wings will just HAVE to suffice then, woe is the ppl who must suffer such nifty items. And like everything else.. gee they are throwing the goodies around for pre-orders. Thats something i can definately appreciate in a game

i can guarentee like most other games those items will be useless in a few levels.

Doubt the wings will be.
Titles and scrolls offer some extra flight time but the bonus you get from collector wings will be very handy

you can buy wings from NPC's in town that increase flight by 60 seconds.

granted they do cost like 2 million kinah, but still.

Edit: Ok so with the collectors edition wings, they only cost 5 kinah, and gives +40 to flight, were as the normal ones cost 800k kinah, and are +30.

but at level 40 you can get the +60 wings for 2 mil

so yeah they are handy to save money i guess.

Legion Info:

Level 1, Cost approx 13k, Maximum Members 30.
Level 2, Cost approx 100k, Required members 10, Maximum members 60.
Level 3, Cost approx 1m, Required members 20, Maximum members 120, Abyss points 20,000.

Not sure about the amounts, but the members is what im getting at. for the most part we will only need level 1, maybe level 2.

cool I was lvl 11 before I logged last night.

Im willing to chuck some kinah the way of trhe guild when needed... by the time i reached 15 in CB i had like 60k so not a huge issue at lower issues.

also let me know if ya need help with anything guys been reading almost everything i can find on the game info wise.

havent looked at class specific info yet other than cleric (my class) but yeh.

I'm like lvl 26 or so with about 500k kinah
should have a fair amount of money early on as i know what sells =)

With everyone pitching in - it will be **** all Kinah each.
I will have the Legion set up well before retail hits - it will actually be created on day 1 of early access (caus me and Mark are hardcore).

The amount in total isnt a great deal; but out of my immediate pocket it will deprive me of some skill purchases :)

one thing i am curious about anyone know if there is a note section in the legion window so i can put GU names next to in game ones? kinda like the note system for wow guilds.

most of you will be easy to remember as i know you IRL but for the others or the interstate ones yeh, mite present a small problem.

Yeah there is a note and nickname system in game.

and if staying about for 36 hours straight last beta and leveling a cleric from 1-20 in one day isnt hardcore then i'd hate to see what is :P

Just another quick update - the Aionaustralia forums that I was using to communicate with other Oceanic guilds has been shutdown by its owner.

This also means that any headway we made into server pre-selection has been pretty much voided. This is annoying and disappointing.

I will try to get in touch with some of the other forum members and see if I can salvage any of the progress made.

The guild's home so I'll donate whatever's needed.

NFI what class I'll play but whatever we're short on.
