Sweeet, grabbing now.
Ta Aegis
it. is. awesome.
also, i notice it's on steam now too + steam mentions multiplayer support?! that a typo?? thought this was just an SP game
Wow PC actually got the demo at the same time as the consoles. Bout damn time.
countering bad guyz is funz
played both the ps3 version and the pc
with an 8800gt and 4 gigs of ram with a 2.5 cpu, the ps3 wins in terms of frame rate
Solid game - quite fun. At first seemed like a 3rd person beat-em-up but there's a lot more to it. Will be grabbing.
the silent predator(tm) stuff in it certainly adds another aspect to it. very cool. I've played through it like 5 times now and had a blast hunting the guys in that final room in different ways - gargoyle + glide kick, vents + batarang + sprint in for the ground takedown etc etc, not to mention just good old sneak up on everyone for the silent takedown :)
love this game, and i hope steam hasnt just ****ed up listing it as MP! I could see a game mod similar to The Hidden being very cool for it. :)
My dilemma is whether to download the 360 demo or the PC one. Suggestions?
360, so you can play it on your nice new TV tomorrow.
Although the PC download will be unmetered (Internode). And the graphics will be better.
also, Batman wouldn't be caught dead with an xbox. do what Batman would do.
(build your own computer, write an OS for it, then write the game yourself)
PS. it looks f*cking stunning on my 50" in 1920x1080. HTPC ftw.
Rave review...

you played the demo and you actually need a review?! dude... :P
Played the Demo at DGA and I have to say I'm ****en impressed.
Will definately be buying this when it goes retail :)
hahahahahahha
360 game is awesome, and the isand is alot larger than i expected.
Sound is something caught my attention, seems quite well done. Looks like it's in Dolby EX.
slightly miffed about the nvidia-only enhancements like physx. doesn't affect gameplay at all, but i like being able to punch holes through concrete.
Finshed it today. Such a good game, well worth doing all the Riddler challengers. ;)
awesome game, but the ending was a let down :(
Yeah Joker was way to easy.
i dont know, once batman reached the joker himself in every other medium, it was usually already over
Ive decided im waiting for the PC release.
Although does seem a lot more natural on a controller.
I'M
BATMMAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Combat system in this game is awesome.
Hard mode is quite crazy though. Unforgiving if you stuff up but quite easy if you've got the combat system down. Flying kicks all the across an entire room are fun.
I have to wait until Sept 19 for my Steam pre-order to unlock... damn staggered releases.
finally got round to getting all the riddles, left me wanting more.
bring on a sequel :)
oh and i heard there are alternate endings, might have to have another whack at it on hard...

The only alternate is who takes the titan, Bane, Croc or Scarecrow.
Just got started with the challenges, quite fun. Helps to know the combat mechanics. Not sure how fun this game is without a controller.

It'd be shit without a controller - but I've got my 360 controllers hooked up to the media centre.
thought it handled really well with the mouse+keyboard myself
haha

Sounds like he had to make a bit of an effort to find things to complain about.
i was expecting him to do another Portal effort, amazed he found anything to whinge about =)
New DLC challenge map Insane Night (Infinite combat) is awesome.
ok not sure wtf is up with the steam store page saying release date is the 30th, but my pre-purchase just became unlocked.
gogo unmetered download!
Finally sat down and started playing this today. F*ck it's good.
Another reason not to buy the game with a guy running around in nickers all day.
firstly, it's awesome. secondly, it's all NIGHT.
Snap.
finished it yesterday, now running around trying to find all the riddler challenges
incredible game
absolutely agree, awesome game.
more than likely my favourite game for the year
I'm still hooked on the challenges, and more DLC just came out.
I'm loving it. How creepy-as-f*ck is the morgue/Scarecrow scene about 10% in? I pooped.
I thought a lot of the reviews might have been hype or of fanboi origin, but it's the real deal.
Oh, and Games for Windows LIVE is awesome as. Don't know why there's so much hate. Love that, too.
because for once it isnt totally invasive arse-hattery. i'm still waiting for it to wipe my saves like it did for flatout 3 on several occasions.
it wasnt bad in fallout3 either, you could completely ignore it in that game too if you wanted, which was nice. it's when they give you no choice in the matter that it sucks.
Just finished the story mode. It's up there with my top 10 games, ever. Seriously, it was that good. Surprisingly f*cking great, in fact.
Then go and get 3 bats on all the challenges. :p

already done!
finished it on hard last weekend.

I'm onto my second play-through, this time using my new Nvidia 3D Vision glasses, which grandinferno and I have been playing around with all day (mostly racing games).
There are lots of games considered "excellent" when it comes to Nvidia 3D Vision support, which are, but a mere few have actually been designed with Vision firmly in mind and given the tick of perfection from Nvidia.
Arkham Asylum is one of those games, and it's breathtaking beyond belief. It's not just "3D" as it used to be in the days of old, or even 3D like Avatar at the cinema, of which both sport imperfections or quirks such as peripheral blurriness or discoloration. It's virtually flawless - a living world with characters as sharp, true and three-dimensional as the coffee mug beside your monitor. You want to reach out and grab them.
I quite simply can't express the level of awe experienced with these 3D glasses. Un-fucking-believable.
