And your point is.
It was Government owned back then.
They released Telstra to the shareholders and it thrived, innovated and reinvented itself.
More competition has arisen from Telstra being able to invest.
-Competitive Mobile Broadband and expanded coverage from all the providers.
-High Speed ADSL2+
-More options and solutions for everyone. Including Wholesale customer of Telstra.
There is no Guarantee that everyone would be better off with Telstra split. And if it goes through Im sure Telstra will continue to be a Market Leader and pave the way.

The first big mistake from the government was selling telstra without retaining the infrastructure, so telstra had a monopoly on it
